Each June 21, the Collectivité de Saint-Martin celebrates the Fête de la Musique in the heart of Marigot. On the Waterfront and in the island's neighborhoods, amateur musicians, school students, and local artists play for free, with entertainment from afternoon until night, in all genres. As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the French part of Saint-Martin into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces throughout the island, from early evening until the middle of the night, in all styles and for all audiences.
