Each June 21, Saint-Médard-en-Jalles celebrates the Fête de la Musique: amateur musicians, ensembles, and professional artists play for free in the city's parks, squares, and gardens. Organized by the City of Saint-Médard-en-Jalles, the day is entirely free and offers all styles, from electro DJ sets to rock, from jazz to choral singing.
The Fête de la Musique in Saint-Médard-en-Jalles
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms Saint-Médard-en-Jalles into an open-air stage every June 21. In this commune of the Bordeaux metropolis, music freely takes over parks, squares, and gardens, from the afternoon until late in the evening, in all genres and for all audiences.
A festive day throughout the city
The 2026 edition unfolds across several sites distributed throughout the city: the Bourdieu park, the Ingénieur park, the Composteurs garden, the Place de l'Hôtel de Ville, and the Saint-Médard church. Dozens of musicians perform successively in a wide variety of styles — electro, rock, funk, soul, jazz, punk, folk, bluegrass, French variety, Orthodox chants, and contemporary music — with food and drink stands at several locations.

The Fête de la Musique 2026 in Saint-Médard-en-Jalles takes place on Sunday, June 21st, free of charge throughout the city. Dozens of musicians will animate five sites — parks, Place de l'Hôtel de Ville, and the church — from the afternoon until late in the evening.
