Musicalarue 2026 — 36th edition
From July 31 to August 2, 2026, the village of Luxey (Landes) hosts the 36th edition of Musicalarue, an emblematic festival combining contemporary music and street arts. Approximately 90 groups and companies perform on about fifteen stage areas spread throughout the village, offering a deliberately eclectic program.
The festival boasts a human-scale atmosphere and a self-financed model of over 80%, rare for an event of this magnitude. As the organizing team (president François Garrain, artistic director Bastien Perez) reminded, «each edition is a struggle» in a difficult cultural context.
In addition to the musical headliners, the 2026 edition offers about twenty street art performance companies, DJ sets, and meeting times, throughout the streets and squares of Luxey.

Musicalarue: The Village That Becomes a Festival
Musicalarue is much more than just a music festival: it's a human and artistic adventure born in 1990 in the tiny village of Luxey, nestled in the heart of the Landes de Gascogne forest. Every summer, this hamlet of a few hundred inhabitants transforms for three days into an extraordinary place of celebration, welcoming nearly 45,000 festival-goers from all over France and beyond.
A Singular Concept: Street Music and Arts
Musicalarue's uniqueness lies in its dual programming:
- Contemporary Music: Over 80 groups and artists perform on about fifteen stages spread throughout the village, offering an eclectic musical palette ranging from rock to reggae, French chanson to electro, hip-hop to world music.
- Street Arts: Street theater companies, circus performers, dancers, and performance artists take over the streets, squares, and gardens, creating surprising shows and unexpected artistic encounters.
The Musicalarue Spirit
What sets Musicalarue apart from large commercial festivals is its village spirit. Here, there are no VIPs or barriers: artists and festival-goers mingle in the streets, share a meal, or have a conversation. The Musicalarue association, driven by passionate volunteers, works year-round to keep culture alive in rural areas, organizing events and artist residencies well beyond the summer festival.
A Strong Territorial Connection
Located in the Landes de Gascogne Regional Nature Park, Musicalarue plays an essential role in the cultural and economic dynamism of this rural territory. The festival is committed to an eco-responsible approach, promoting short supply chains, waste sorting, and soft mobility. The economic impact on local businesses and accommodations is considerable, making Musicalarue a key player in local development.
