Three days of free concerts facing the port of Barfleur
From Friday, August 28th to Sunday, August 30th, 2026, MusiKenSaire hosts its 13th edition at the Cracko site in Barfleur, one of the most beautiful villages in France. The festival maintains the formula that made its reputation in the Val de Saire: a main stage (the Phare stage), a marquee for performances between main sets, and completely free admission. The site opens at 5:30 PM on Friday with music starting at 6:30 PM; at 5:00 PM on Saturday with the first act at 6:00 PM; and from 12:00 PM on Sunday for a day dedicated to families.
A Norman lineup with a global outlook
Friday, August 28th brings together LGMX, a brass band from Lyon that reimagines electronic music through acoustic arrangements of ambient house, industrial techno, and psytrance textures, hosted with Le Circuit; Rougir, a Saint-Lô duo formed in 2023 by Maela and Colin, winners of the Cotentin Contemporary Music Showcase, blending electro, rock, and pop; Issara, a French-American-Thai singer based in Normandy, performing modern, sun-drenched soul with an exceptional band; and No Terror in the Bang, a cinematic progressive metal band from Rouen presenting their album HEAL. Under the marquee, between sets on the Phare stage, Cri Cri dè la Mancha, an oyster farmer and performer from Val de Saire, sings of diversity and brotherhood alongside two Beninese musicians.
Saturday, August 29th features Calle Mambo, a staple of the Latin music revival with thirteen years of experience, three albums, and over three hundred concerts worldwide, blending traditional Latin American instruments with urban electronic sounds; Lotti, an indie pop project from Le Havre led by Pauline, performing as a trio; UrBAM, a Caen-based duo born from the meeting of cellist and singer Milena Martin and drummer Adrien Levesque; and Minh May, a frozen electro-rock act emerging from the maritime mists of Cherbourg. Under the marquee, Rouen DJ Aeon Seven spins vinyl ranging from funk and jazz to hip-hop. In the afternoon, the festival expands into the town center: at Le Mora, 14 rue Saint-Nicolas, an open stage from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM hosts Christine, a dark electro artist known for her appearances at Printemps de Bourges, Transmusicales, and Vieilles Charrues, followed by a jam session led by the Channel Sharks, in partnership with the Musée Atelier de Barfleur.
A family Sunday with concerts and activities from 12:00 PM
On Sunday, August 30th, Nor'Mad kicks off the festivities: four musicians from Mes Souliers Sont Rouges revisiting folk music and traditional songs, in a concert interpreted in sign language by 10 Doigts en Cavale. They are followed by Fils & Ships, a Fermanville trio formed in 2022 that takes the audience on a journey with sea shanties played on banjo, violin, harmonica, charango, and guitar; Les Goules, five painter-makeup artists and singers who roam the site transforming children and adults into baroque creatures; and P'tit Brin, a show for young audiences by the Nafilo company, a mobile cabaret blending storytelling, melody, and poetry. All day from 12:00 PM, the Barfleur library sets up its reading lounge at the Cracko, the Terroirs Histoires et Traditions de Normandie association introduces traditional Norman games, L'Orchestre Sauvage builds instruments from recycled materials, and Graines d'Odyssée, the Waste Ambassadors, and L'École de Preeti host their stands, while Pignons sur Rue repairs bicycles and a local artisan market takes place on-site.
A festival committed to accessibility
MusiKenSaire prioritizes accessibility for people with disabilities: pictographic signage, a dedicated welcome area at the parking entrance, reserved parking spaces along the access road and a drop-off zone, volunteer assistance to the entrance, loaner wheelchairs, accessible counters, accessible restrooms, a quiet rest area, and a secure zone near the main stage. In terms of equipment, the festival provides an induction loop, the Mobile Connect system, and vibrating vests to feel the music through vibrations. Throughout the three days, the Des Mots de Mains et Signes Manche stand provides sign language support; on Sunday, August 30th, this is complemented by an APF France handicap stand with a wheelchair course, a backstage tour of festival professions in LSF (French Sign Language) with recommended booking, and the sign-interpreted concert by Nor'Mad.
Getting to the Cracko
The Cap Cotentin Line C connects Cherbourg to Barfleur with one bus per hour, including a return bus at 11:00 PM and a special festival stop as close to the site as possible on rue Alfred Musset; a validated ticket enters you into a prize draw at the information desk. Cyclists have direct access to the entrance, a dedicated parking area, and a free maintenance and repair workshop on Sunday with the Pignons sur Rue association. MusikenSaire: Showcase of Norman Music in Barfleur
Created in 2013 by the association MKS (Musikensaire), founded a year earlier by Éric Buhot and a group of music-loving friends, MusikenSaire has become the reference festival for discovering the contemporary Norman music scene. Initially organized on the Place de Saint-Pierre-Église in 2012 and 2013, the festival then moved to the port of Barfleur, one of the most beautiful villages in France, before settling at the Crako site in Barfleur.
100% Norman Programming
Every late summer, over three days, MusikenSaire programs between 15 and 20 groups from the Norman music scene. From rock to electro, from French chanson to hip-hop, including folk, reggae, and jazz, the festival offers a complete panorama of regional musical creation. Emerging talents rub shoulders with confirmed artists like Little Bob, who performed at the 2021 edition.
Free and Friendly
True to its founding values, MusikenSaire remains an entirely free festival and open to all. The atmosphere is family-friendly and convivial, with a capacity deliberately limited to 2,500 people. The Crako site offers a remarkable natural setting between land and sea, conducive to musical discovery and encounters.
Constantly Increasing Attendance
Since its modest beginnings in Saint-Pierre-Église, the festival has seen remarkable growth, reaching a record attendance of over 4,000 spectators over four days during the 2021 edition, notably with the appearance of Little Bob. The 12th edition in August 2025 confirmed the festival's solid position in the cultural landscape of Cotentin and all of Normandy, making MusikenSaire an essential event for the cultural season in the Manche region.
