A festival born in 1984 in the heart of Omois

Created in 1984, the Musique en Omois festival is one of the unmissable summer events in the South of Aisne. For over forty years, it has offered a series of free concert evenings every Friday in July in a different municipality in the Omois region, between the valleys of the Marne and the Tardenois. This itinerant festival embodies a vibrant, accessible culture for all, driven by the desire to bring rural areas to life through music.

A musical journey through the villages

Each edition maps out an original musical itinerary through five to six municipalities in the South of Aisne: Château-Thierry, Fère-en-Tardenois, Jaulgonne, Charly-sur-Marne, Essômes-sur-Marne, Nogent-l'Artaud, Crouttes-sur-Marne, Mont-Saint-Père, Latilly, Marchais-en-Brie, Brécy, and many others. Village squares, communal parks, and heritage sites are transformed into open-air concert stages for an evening, offering a unique and friendly setting.

An eclectic and generous program

The Musique en Omois program features musical groups of local, national, and international renown. Each evening consists of a main concert preceded by an opening act, often featuring a local artist. The musical styles are diverse: rock, world music, French chanson, Celtic music, electro, ethio-jazz, trip-hop, swing, and folk are featured from one edition to the next. In 2024, the festival hosted La Cafetera Roja, Les Tit' Nassels, Kutu, The Cloverhearts, The Brooks, and Celkilt. In 2025, Cartoon Machine, Guiz, Les Fils du Facteur, Morgane Ji, and Giufà took over.

Festive evenings for all audiences

Evenings generally begin in the late afternoon or early evening with activities for families: dance workshops, participatory workshops, and shows for young audiences. The main concert starts around 9:30 PM and continues into the night. On July 13th, a fireworks display crowns the celebration, traditionally held in Château-Thierry or the host municipality. On-site catering and bars complete the festive and friendly atmosphere.

Strong territorial roots

Supported by the PETR — UCCSA (Pôle d'Équilibre Territorial et Rural — Union des Communautés de Communes du Sud de l'Aisne) in partnership with the Communauté d'Agglomération de la Région de Château-Thierry and the Communauté de Communes du Canton de Charly-sur-Marne, the festival is part of a territorial cultural development initiative. By bringing cultural offerings to rural villages, Musique en Omois contributes to the animation and influence of the South of Aisne, strengthening ties between residents and promoting the natural and built heritage of the Omois region.
