A festival to celebrate women artists

The Où Sont les Femmes festival is a feminist and musical event organized in Forcalquier, in the heart of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, by the cultural association Le K'fé Quoi. True to the committed and supportive spirit of this emblematic venue in Haute-Provence, the festival is dedicated to highlighting women artists in all their diversity: musicians, singers, actresses, performers, and multidisciplinary creators.

An eclectic and committed program

The program of the Où Sont les Femmes festival is resolutely eclectic. It features French chanson, world music, musical theater, pantomime, electronic performances, and original stage creations. Among the artists who have marked past editions is notably Juliette Z, an unclassifiable artist mixing theater, pantomime, chanson, and electronic music, accompanied by Guy Zollkau (double bass and electronic saxophone). The festival also welcomes artists from the local and regional Provençal scene, offering a showcase for emerging and established female talents.

Le K'fé Quoi, cradle of the festival

The festival was born within Le K'fé Quoi, a performance venue and cultural hub established in Forcalquier since 1995. With a capacity of 300 people standing and 150 seats, this space has an indoor stage, an outdoor stage, and a bar, offering a friendly and warm setting for performances. Le K'fé Quoi is recognized for its eclectic artistic programming and its commitment to popular culture, solidarity, and local roots. In 2024, the venue was taken over under the name Le Ka by the association ONE AGAIN, continuing the same cultural mission at the same address.

A feminist commitment at the heart of Haute-Provence

The festival's title, borrowed from the famous song by Patrick Juvet, calls out with humor and determination about the place of women in the world of live performance and music. By programming exclusively or predominantly women artists, the festival affirms its desire to correct representation imbalances in cultural programming and to value feminine creativity in all its richness. The event is part of a broader movement of feminist festivals in France, alongside initiatives like *Les Femmes s'en Mêlent* or *WeToo Festival*.
