Youth Cinema at the Heart of Matheysine

Plein les Yeux is the unmissable event for young public cinema in Matheysine and Oisans. Organized at the Ciné-Théâtre de La Mure, this festival offers an entire week dedicated to the 7th art for children and families every year during the winter holidays. Since its creation, it has built a loyal audience eager to discover the best of youth cinema in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

A Generous and Diverse Program

Each edition offers a selection of approximately 24 films screened in 64 sessions, providing a comprehensive overview of youth cinema: award-winning films from the previous year, current releases, previews, and selections adapted for the youngest viewers. The program is designed to satisfy all ages, from the youngest spectators to teenagers, with particular attention paid to the diversity of genres and origins of the films presented.

Juries and Awards

One of the festival's unique features is the active participation of young spectators in the event's life. A children's jury has the honor of choosing its favorite film from the selection, while all the public is invited to vote throughout the week to award the Audience Award. These awards highlight children's perspectives and their ability to express critical opinions on films.

Workshops and Activities

Beyond the screenings, the festival offers numerous activities and workshops to introduce young spectators to the professions and techniques of cinema. Meetings with professionals enrich the experience and allow children to better understand the making of the films they discover on the big screen. A directing workshop even allows participants to create their own short film, which is screened at the end of the festival.
