Open-air discovery and independent festival in Festieux
Created in 2012 by the association Les Volfonis, a group of friends passionate about music and conviviality, the PloucKstocK Festival is an atypical musical event held annually in early June in Festieux, a small village in the Aisne region located between Laon and Reims. Inspired by the spirit of Woodstock, the festival champions a resolutely independent philosophy, far from any elitism or commercial logic.
For three days, over twenty-five bands and artists perform on three outdoor stages located on Route de Coucy in Festieux. The programming explores a wide diversity of musical genres: rock, punk, ska, reggae, electro, folk, musette, French chanson, garage rock, and many others. Among the artists who have marked previous editions are Black Out Arises, Cut Capers, Tobazco Wild Band, Les Skamarades, La Punkaravane, Daniel Duroy, The Aspirators, Vyryl, Lénine Renaud, Seagulls Are Drunk, Harfang, Kapsule's, and Les Kroûtes.
PloucKstocK Festival stands out for its entirely free entry, as well as its free camping and free parking. Food is available on-site all day. The program is complemented by street performances, activities for children (sculpture, face painting, giant tug-of-war), exhibitions, poetry, and fire shows. The family-friendly and human atmosphere, set in a green environment, makes it a highly anticipated event for independent music lovers in Picardy.
The association Les Volfonis, based in Mauregny-en-Haye (02820), is the driving force behind the festival. Founded by Thierry Marbrier and a team of volunteers, it runs the event on a near-zero budget, thanks to the support of the municipality of Festieux and its mayor. The festival is above all a place for meeting and sharing between artists, volunteers, and the public, true to the spirit of an authentic and generous village festival.
The PloucKstocK Festival might return to Festieux in 2025. The dates and lineup are not yet confirmed. The festival usually takes place in early June over three days, with free entry and camping.
