The P'tits Moments Lyriques: classical music at a child's level
Created in 2018 as part of the Moments Lyriques de Chartres et d'Eure-et-Loir, the P'tits Moments Lyriques are an essential part of this classical music festival, offering performances specially designed for young audiences. The initiative, led by the association Orchestre Prométhée, aims to open the doors of classical and lyrical music to the youngest children from a very early age.
Interactive and fun performances
Far from the conventions of traditional classical concerts, the P'tits Moments Lyriques offer performances adapted for children: short duration, lively narration, audience participation, colorful sets, and dynamic staging. The professional musicians of the Orchestre Prométhée present the instruments, tell musical stories, and invite children to discover the great works of the classical repertoire in an interactive and fun way.
Among the emblematic works presented during previous editions, Igor Stravinsky's L'Histoire du Soldat was the subject of a particularly successful adaptation, combining music, theater, and narration to captivate the attention of the little ones.
A traveling festival throughout the department
The P'tits Moments Lyriques take place in various towns in Eure-et-Loir, bringing classical music closer to the audiences, including in rural areas far from major cultural institutions. Community halls, media libraries, schools, and cultural spaces host these performances, contributing to a true territorial network of musical offerings.
A project supported by institutions
This program benefits from the support of the Conseil départemental d'Eure-et-Loir, the City of Chartres, the Eiffage group, the Fondation LVMH et Bernard Arnault, and the Caisse d'Épargne Loire Centre. These partnerships make it possible to offer the shows free of charge, thus removing the financial barrier that can hinder access to classical culture for families.
Awakening vocations and transmitting passion
Beyond entertainment, the P'tits Moments Lyriques pursue an objective of musical transmission and awakening. By familiarizing children with the sounds of the orchestra, lyrical voices, and the great pieces of the repertoire, these shows help to train the audiences of tomorrow and awaken musical vocations. Each performance is a moment of sharing between artists and spectators, where the wonder of the children communicates a contagious energy to the entire audience.
