Pyrène Festival: Music and conviviality at the foot of the Pyrenees

Since 2013, Pyrène Festival has enlivened the town of Bordes, at the foot of the Pyrenees, every early July with two days of concerts in a warm and relaxed atmosphere. Created by the association Loco-Motivés, this independent festival was born from the passion of a group of young Béarnais eager to share their love of music with their community.

A National and International Program

Pyrène Festival offers an ambitious musical program, mixing national and international artists in a genre that explores world music and alternative music:

Friday Evening

The first evening is thematic, varying each year between ska-punk, alternative rock, or festive music. The festival hosts bands from the French and European scene, creating a party atmosphere from the opening.

Saturday Evening

The second evening is traditionally dedicated to reggae, with artists from the French and international reggae-dub scene. Sound systems and live bands take turns to make the audience vibrate until the end of the night.

Featured Artists

Pyrène Festival has hosted renowned artists such as The Locos (ex-Ska-P), Winston McAnuff & The Ligerians, Mellow Mood, Twinkle (High Tone), and Heartical Heights Sound System. This programming demonstrates the festival's artistic ambition, rivaling larger events.

An Ecological and Local Commitment

Pyrène Festival stands out for its commitment to ecology and the promotion of local artisanal products. The organization favors short supply chains for food and drinks:

• Local beer bar: Selection of craft beers from Pyrénées-Atlantiques breweries
• Wine bar: Jurançon and Béarn wines

A Family Festival

Pyrène Festival is an event open to all generations. A dedicated children's area offers adapted activities, allowing families to enjoy the festival in a safe environment. The Loco-Motivés association also organizes events throughout the year: spring flea markets, dinner-concerts, and autumn music evenings.

Bordes: Gateway to the Pyrenees

Located 20 km southeast of Pau, Bordes is a town in the Pyrenean foothills that offers a green natural setting for the festival. The Bordes sports complex, the festival site, hosts the stages, bars, and catering areas in a spacious and comfortable environment.
