About Sea Fair - SIPEL
Every year, the Salon de la Mer - SIPEL brings together professionals and enthusiasts of fishing and boating under the fish auction hall and along the quays of the port of Étel. Organized by the Escale Marine shop in partnership with the Guidel Surfcasting Club for the fishing competition, the event features stalls, practical workshops, sea excursions, and boat displays celebrating the maritime heritage of the Pays d'Étel.

The 5th edition of the Salon de la Mer - SIPEL will take place on September 5th and 6th, 2026, beneath the fish auction hall and along the quays of Étel. New for 2026: freshwater fishing stands and a fest-noz featuring the band Parfum de Folk on Saturday at 6:00 PM.
Programme Sea Fair - SIPEL 2026
Saturday, September 5th and Sunday, September 6th, 2026
- Fishing competition (for children up to 11 and adults), registration at the welcome desk
- Practical workshops: rig assembly with a surfcasting guide, knot tying
- Fishing simulator
- Sea excursions aboard the Émile Daniel, registration at the welcome desk
- Sea fishing stand: lure pool, lure sales
- Nautical stands: kayak trials by registration, electric motors, marine binoculars, boat license information
- Boat exhibition by Centre Marine
- Freshwater fishing stands (new for 2026)
- Book clearance sale from Éditions de Groix
- Charity events supporting the SNSM: hook-a-duck, weight-guessing game, awareness raising
- Meet and greet with author Arnaud Filleul
- 6:00 PM — Fest-noz with the band Parfum de Folk (Saturday only)

Location: Port of Étel, under the fish auction hall and along the quays.
Hours: 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM, both days.
Admission is free. Fishing competitions and sea excursions require registration at the information desk.
A free fair at the port
The weekend event takes place under the fish auction hall and along the quays of Étel, with free admission. Local associations, including the SNSM, host charity activities such as line fishing, basket weighing, and awareness campaigns. Authors with a passion for the sea will also be present for meet-and-greets and book signings.
