Afro-Caribbean music and tropical culture festival in Brive-la-Gaillarde
Summa Festival is a festive and colorful event dedicated to Afro-Caribbean culture, organized annually at Parc des Perrières in Brive-la-Gaillarde. Summa Festival is an Afro-Caribbean music festival created in 2023 in Brive-la-Gaillarde by the association Afro19. This annual event, held in June at the Parc des Perrières, aims to celebrate African and Caribbean cultures through music, dance, gastronomy, and festive entertainment. Over three days of outdoor programming, Summa Festival offers a tropical and friendly interlude for the public in Corrèze and the surrounding region.
The musical lineup of Summa Festival features sounds from Afro, Afrobeat, Zouk, Dancehall, Reggae, and Coupé-décalé. The festival hosts renowned artists from the international and French-speaking scenes, as well as DJs specializing in African and Caribbean urban music. During the 2025 edition, the audience enjoyed concerts by Nassi (author of the hit « La vie est belle »), Kaysha, Denden, and Mariaa Siga, among others. The concerts take place on a large outdoor stage, creating a festive and danceable atmosphere from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon.
In addition to the musical program, Summa Festival offers numerous activities throughout the weekend. Dance workshops are organized, including hip-hop sessions led by professional dancers like Dixa Popper. The public can also enjoy the food trucks offering African and Caribbean culinary specialties: grilled chicken, alloco, accras, bokits, planter's punch... The general atmosphere of the festival, with its tropical decorations and colorful entertainment, invites celebration and travel to the heart of Afro-Caribbean cultures.
The festival takes place at the Parc des Perrières, a vast green space located on the outskirts of Brive-la-Gaillarde. This park, with its lawns and trees, offers a pleasant and suitable setting for an outdoor event. The fourth edition of Summa Festival will be held from June 12 to 14, 2026, at Parc des Perrières in Brive-la-Gaillarde. Building on the success of previous editions, the festival once again promises three days of celebration, music, and cultural discoveries centered around Afro and Caribbean worlds.
The 2026 lineup, to be announced in the months leading up to the event, is expected to once again feature renowned artists from the Afro-Caribbean scene, dance workshops, tropical food trucks, and entertainment for the whole family. Summa Festival is solidifying its position as a must-attend summer event for all lovers of urban and tropical music in Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
