The tropical festival of Corrèze
Summa Festival is an Afro-Caribbean music festival created in 2023 in Brive-la-Gaillarde by the association Afro19. This annual event, held in June at the Parc des Perrières, aims to celebrate African and Caribbean cultures through music, dance, gastronomy, and festive entertainment. Over three days of outdoor programming, Summa Festival offers a tropical and friendly interlude for the public in Corrèze and the surrounding region.
A quality Afro and Caribbean program
The musical lineup of Summa Festival features sounds from Afro, Afrobeat, Zouk, Dancehall, Reggae, and Coupé-décalé. The festival hosts renowned artists from the international and French-speaking scenes, as well as DJs specializing in African and Caribbean urban music. During the 2025 edition, the audience enjoyed concerts by Nassi (author of the hit « La vie est belle »), Kaysha, Denden, and Mariaa Siga, among others. The concerts take place on a large outdoor stage, creating a festive and danceable atmosphere from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon.
Dance, workshops, and tropical entertainment
In addition to the musical program, Summa Festival offers numerous activities throughout the weekend. Dance workshops are organized, including hip-hop sessions led by professional dancers like Dixa Popper. The public can also enjoy the food trucks offering African and Caribbean culinary specialties: grilled chicken, alloco, accras, bokits, planter's punch... The general atmosphere of the festival, with its tropical decorations and colorful entertainment, invites celebration and travel to the heart of Afro-Caribbean cultures.
Parc des Perrières, an ideal outdoor setting
The festival takes place at the Parc des Perrières, a vast green space located on the outskirts of Brive-la-Gaillarde. This park, with its lawns and trees, offers a pleasant and suitable setting for an outdoor event. Its proximity to the city center and ease of access make it an ideal location to gather the public in a friendly and festive atmosphere. The site allows for the installation of a large stage, catering areas, relaxation zones, and activity spaces.
Afro19, the driving force behind the project
Summa Festival is organized by the association Afro19, based in Brive-la-Gaillarde, which works to promote Afro-Caribbean culture in Corrèze. Through this event, the association aims to highlight cultural diversity, create social connections, and offer a festive and accessible program for everyone. The festival is experiencing growing success and is establishing itself as a must-attend summer event for lovers of urban and tropical music in Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
