About Talence Music Festival
Every June 21, Talence celebrates the Fête de la Musique: amateur musicians, students from the municipal music school, and local groups play for free in the streets and in the heart of Peixotto Park. South of the Bordeaux metropolitan area, the day is entirely free and open to all, from morning until evening.
The Fête de la Musique in Talence
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Talence, in Gironde, into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces, in all genres and for all audiences, from daytime activities to evening concerts.
Peixotto Park at the heart of the celebration
Usually, Peixotto Park and its hundred-year-old trees host a large part of Talence's program: the day opens with musical activities led by the municipal music school, before giving way in the afternoon and evening to local amateur groups, in various styles (gospel, world music, pop, rock). Bars, restaurants, and neighborhood stages complete the celebration in the rest of the city.
