Trail de la Pierre qui Tourne: The Sporting Adventure in the Heart of the Mauges

Since 2018, the Trail de la Pierre qui Tourne has established itself as one of the unmissable sporting events in Maine-et-Loire. Organized by the association Fief Patrimoine in Le Fief-Sauvin, a delegated commune of Montrevault-sur-Èvre, this trail was created with the ambition to promote the heritage and landscapes of this rural commune located in the heart of the Mauges.

Five Races for All Levels

The event offers a complete sporting program with five races adapted to all types of runners:

  • La Fiefinette (5 km): A short and accessible course for everyone, ideal for beginners and families.
  • La Silvanoise (10 km, 200 m D+): A dynamic nature race for enthusiasts.
  • Le Trail de la Pierre qui Tourne (23 km, 600 m D+): The flagship event that gives the event its name.
  • Le Silvatrail (38 km, 1,000 m D+): A demanding challenge, bronze-labeled by the FFA.
  • L'UTEM — Ultra Trail Èvre et Mauges (89 km, 2,000 m D+): An ambitious ultra-trail, which can be completed in relay, crossing the most spectacular landscapes of the Mauges.

Routes Between Heritage and Nature

The race routes follow paths and trails that wind through the Angevin bocage, forests, the valleys of the Èvre and Sèvre Nantaise rivers, and pass through villages with remarkable heritage. The Pierre qui Tourne, an emblematic megalith of Le Fief-Sauvin, is a symbolic point of passage that anchors the event in the millennial history of the territory. Runners discover varied landscapes, panoramas of the Mauges, and preserved natural heritage throughout their effort.

An Event Driven by Volunteers

The Trail de la Pierre qui Tourne is organized by passionate volunteers from the Fief Patrimoine association, with the support of the Entente des Mauges and local authorities. The event mobilizes hundreds of volunteers each year for organization, course marking, aid stations, and runner reception. The friendly atmosphere and the commitment of the organizers are regularly praised by participants.

Growing Influence

With its 7th edition planned for March 2026, the Trail de la Pierre qui Tourne has gained regional recognition thanks to the FFA label and the quality of its organization. The event attracts runners from all over the Grand Ouest and contributes to the sporting and tourist influence of the Montrevault-sur-Èvre and Mauges territory.
