About Vent de Grève
The Vent de Grève Festival was a free kite and water sports festival that took place every autumn on Saint-Efflam beach, on the Lieue de Grève, between Plestin-les-Grèves, Saint-Michel-en-Grève, and Tréduder (Côtes-d'Armor). For a weekend, over 70 kite flyers and up to 6,000 visitors gathered for an aerial show accompanied by introductions to water sports: sand yachting, paddleboarding, kitesurfing, paragliding, and sailing. Kite-building workshops, wind gardens, and music completed this festive and family-friendly seaside event. The 12th and last documented edition was held on October 12 and 13, 2019; the 2020 and 2021 editions were cancelled and the festival no longer seems to be held since.

A wind festival on the Lieue de Grève
The Vent de Grève Festival took place on Saint-Efflam beach, a vast sandy expanse of the Lieue de Grève, between Plestin-les-Grèves, Saint-Michel-en-Grève, and Tréduder. This exceptional site, swept by the Breton winds, offered an ideal playground for kite flyers and water sports enthusiasts.
Kites and aerial show
For a weekend, over 70 kite flyers from all over France and Europe transformed the sky of the Lieue de Grève into a colourful ballet. Kites of all sizes and shapes, from the most artistic to the most acrobatic, offered a continuous aerial spectacle for the approximately 6,000 visitors who walked along the beach.
Introductions to water sports
The festival offered numerous free introductions to wind and sea-related sports: sand yachting, paddleboarding, kitesurfing, paragliding, accro-voile (maritime climbing), and vélek'tro. Kite and wind flower building workshops allowed children to learn about wind arts, while yoga sessions were offered on the beach. Musical entertainment and inflatable structures for children completed this wind festival on one of the most beautiful natural sites in Côtes-d'Armor.
The end of an adventure
First organised in 2008 by the Vent de Grève association, the festival brought together the communes of the canton of Lieue de Grève around the celebration of wind for about a dozen editions. After the 12th edition in October 2019, the 2020 and 2021 editions were cancelled and no new edition has been announced since. If a new edition were to be organised, this page would be updated.
