There is no edition scheduled in 2026 for this event. This page remains accessible to archive the history of the manifestation and will be updated if a new edition is announced.
The Vent de Grève Festival was a free kite and water sports festival that took place every autumn on Saint-Efflam beach, on the Lieue de Grève, between Plestin-les-Grèves, Saint-Michel-en-Grève, and Tréduder (Côtes-d'Armor). For a weekend, over 70 kite flyers and up to 6,000 visitors gathered for an aerial show accompanied by introductions to water sports: sand yachting, paddleboarding, kitesurfing, paragliding, and sailing. Kite-building workshops, wind gardens, and music completed this festive and family-friendly seaside event. The 12th and last documented edition was held on October 12 and 13, 2019; the 2020 and 2021 editions were cancelled and the festival no longer seems to be held since.
ℹ️ Festival discontinued. The Vent de Grève Festival no longer seems to be held since 2019. Its 12th edition, on October 12 and 13, 2019, is the last publicly documented one; the 2020 and 2021 editions were cancelled (two consecutive cancellations), and no source mentions its resumption since. The official website festivalventdegreve.fr is no longer active (domain name recovered by an unrelated site). This page is kept for archival purposes.
The Vent de Grève Festival took place on Saint-Efflam beach, a vast sandy expanse of the Lieue de Grève, between Plestin-les-Grèves, Saint-Michel-en-Grève, and Tréduder. This exceptional site, swept by the Breton winds, offered an ideal playground for kite flyers and water sports enthusiasts.
For a weekend, over 70 kite flyers from all over France and Europe transformed the sky of the Lieue de Grève into a colourful ballet. Kites of all sizes and shapes, from the most artistic to the most acrobatic, offered a continuous aerial spectacle for the approximately 6,000 visitors who walked along the beach.
The festival offered numerous free introductions to wind and sea-related sports: sand yachting, paddleboarding, kitesurfing, paragliding, accro-voile (maritime climbing), and vélek'tro. Kite and wind flower building workshops allowed children to learn about wind arts, while yoga sessions were offered on the beach. Musical entertainment and inflatable structures for children completed this wind festival on one of the most beautiful natural sites in Côtes-d'Armor.
First organised in 2008 by the Vent de Grève association, the festival brought together the communes of the canton of Lieue de Grève around the celebration of wind for about a dozen editions. After the 12th edition in October 2019, the 2020 and 2021 editions were cancelled and no new edition has been announced since. If a new edition were to be organised, this page would be updated.
ℹ️ No 2026 edition. The Vent de Grève Festival has not been held since 2019 (12th and last documented edition: October 12-13, 2019; 2020 and 2021 editions cancelled). No 2026 edition is being organized. This page is kept for archival purposes.
ℹ️ No 2026 edition — festival suspended. No 2026 edition of the Vent de Grève Festival has been announced. The last publicly documented edition dates back to October 2019 (12th edition), with the 2020 and 2021 editions having been cancelled. At the time of our editorial review (June 2026), no source (organizer, Plestin-les-Grèves town hall, tourist office, local press) indicates a resumption of the festival. The official website is no longer active. Should a new edition emerge, this page would be updated.
