A unique festival on an island
Created in 2015, the Viens dans mon Île (VDMI) festival is more than just a musical event: it's an adventure. To attend it, you must first cross the ocean from Fromentine or the port of La Fosse, then set foot on Île d'Yeu, a wild gem on the Vendée coast. This island dimension gives the festival an incomparable atmosphere, between escape and conviviality.
The Fort de Pierre-Levée: a historic setting
The concerts take place within the walls of the Fort de Pierre-Levée, also known as the Citadel, a fortified building located near Port-Joinville. Its centuries-old walls offer a striking backdrop for artists and the public. The stage is set up in the inner courtyard of the fort, creating an intimate capacity of about 2,500 seats where the proximity between musicians and spectators creates the magic of the place.
Three evenings, nine concerts
True to its format, the festival schedules three evenings spread over a week, with three artists or groups per evening. The programming mixes:
- French chanson and variety (Thomas Dutronc, Yannick Noah, Vianney, Laurent Voulzy, Zaz)
- Francophone Pop and Rock (Louis Bertignac, -M-, Roméo Elvis, Aliocha Schneider)
- Discoveries and emerging talents who share the bill with the headliners
The island spirit
The festival offers a unique concept of "boat + concert pass" allowing spectators from the mainland to combine a sea crossing and a musical evening. The Compagnie Yeu Continent adds special crossing times for the occasion, with late returns after the concerts. Supported by nearly 200 volunteers and 80 partners, Viens dans mon Île has become a major cultural player on Île d'Yeu and an ambassador for the dynamism of the Vendée island.
