Every summer, the town of Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine, famous for its AOP goat cheese, organizes its Gourmet and Artisanal Village, a large night market that transforms Parc Robert Guignard into a place of conviviality and gastronomy. This event has become a must-attend summer gathering in Touraine du Sud.
The Gourmet Village brings together around 60 exhibitors, including artisans, creators, local producers, and restaurateurs. Among them, a dozen restaurants and food trucks offer a true culinary world tour: Asian, Latin American, Oriental, Italian, and French specialties are available in a friendly and multicultural atmosphere.
It is impossible to talk about Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine without mentioning its famous AOP goat cheese, recognizable by its rye straw running through the ash-coated log. The Gourmet Village is an opportunity to discover this emblematic product of the Touraine terroir and to meet the local producers who perpetuate this centuries-old cheese-making tradition.
The Gourmet Village is hosted by the radio station ICI Touraine (France Bleu), which notably features a giant open-air karaoke, creating a festive and participatory atmosphere. Families will also find entertainment for children, making this evening a moment of intergenerational sharing.
Admission to the Gourmet Village is free, and stall spaces are offered free of charge to vendors, demonstrating the Town's commitment to providing a popular and accessible event. From 7 PM, visitors can stroll among the stalls, taste specialties from food trucks and producers, and enjoy the entertainment until late in the evening.
Parc Robert Guignard, a green space located in the heart of Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine, offers an ideal setting for this summer evening. The century-old trees and lawns of the park create a relaxed and rustic atmosphere, perfect for an evening with family or friends under the Touraine stars.
