Zik à Tesseau

Twenty years of contemporary music in Saint-Lactencin

From 2004 to 2024, Zik à Tesseau was held in early September at the Tesseau locality, in the field behind the Terres Rouges business park, opposite the Lonati nurseries in the commune of Saint-Lactencin. The site is located at the entrance to Buzançais, on the road to Châteauroux, along the RD943. Concerts were held under a marquee. The event was programmed by the Val de l'Indre-Brenne community of municipalities in collaboration with the Saint-Lactencin association collective, which managed the bars and food stalls.

The format

For many years, the festival spanned two evenings, Friday and Saturday, with doors opening at 8:30 PM and three bands per night. Its final two editions, in 2023 and 2024, were condensed into a single Saturday night. The lineup featured rock, punk, reggae, ragga, funk, afrobeat, brass bands, jazz, and world music. On-site camping was available.

• 2013, 10th edition — Friday, September 6 at 8:30 PM: Sadaaka (soul funk), Jazz Combo Box (world jazz), Babylon Circus. Saturday, September 7 at 8:30 PM: The Riot's (reggae), Le Gros Tube (funk brass band), Raggasonic. Tickets: 3 and 5 € per night.
• 2019, 16th edition — Friday, September 6, doors at 8:30 PM: Thomas Kahn, Shaolin Temple Defenders, Balkan Brass Band. Saturday, September 7, doors at 8:30 PM: Les Ramoneurs de Menhirs, Trust, Ceux Qui Marchent Debout.
• 2023, 19th edition — Saturday, September 9, doors at 8:00 PM: Tomawok at 8:15 PM, Asian Dub Foundation at 9:30 PM, La P'tite Fumée at 11:30 PM.
• 2024, 20th and final edition — Saturday, September 14, 10 € entry: Mouss et Hakim (from Zebda) at 8:30 PM, Jumbo System at 9:45 PM, Sergent Garcia at 11:00 PM, Nasty & Elo DJ set at 12:30 AM.

After Zik à Tesseau

Saint-Lactencin now hosts a new musical event: Saint-Lac' en folies, co-organized by local associations and the Val de l'Indre-Brenne community of municipalities. Its second edition takes place on Saturday, September 5, 2026, starting at 6:00 PM in the village center. Admission is free, featuring four concerts and a DJ set: Suck Da Head at 6:00 PM, Fahrenheit at 7:30 PM, Malabaaar at 8:30 PM, Zarhzä at 10:30 PM, and DJ Dgé at midnight. Food is available on-site; meal tray reservations can be made by calling 07 43 34 75 47.
