Musical and oenological journey through the emblematic sites of Meursault
The De Bach à Bacchus Festival was born in 1986 from the desire of the association Les Amis de la Musique à Meursault to combine two Burgundian passions: music and wine. Every summer, for about ten days in July, the village of Meursault — famous for its great white wines — transforms into an open-air musical stage, hosting concerts in its most emblematic heritage sites.
The festival's program covers a wide musical spectrum: baroque music, classical, jazz, tango nuevo, Renaissance songs, and world music. Each edition offers about twenty events adapted to their host venues: the Saint-Nicolas church for its acoustic resonance, the Léproserie for its intimate atmosphere, and the wine estates for their setting. Invited artists, both established musicians and young talents, are chosen for their musical excellence and their desire to share.
What distinguishes Bach à Bacchus from other classical music festivals is the integration of oenology into the program. Concerts are enhanced with guided tastings of Meursault wines, visits to wine estates, and dinners with artists at the winemakers' homes. This alliance between music and wine creates a complete sensory experience, true to the spirit of the Burgundian terroir.
The festival aims to be accessible to all audiences, with concerts and oenological activities offered at prices ranging from 18 to 33 euros. Reservation is recommended due to the limited capacities of the heritage sites. The intimate atmosphere and proximity to the artists make each event a unique moment of sharing between music, wine, and heritage.
The 2026 edition of the Festival De Bach à Bacchus takes place from July 4 to 12 in Meursault and celebrates the 40th anniversary of the association Les Amis de la Musique à Meursault, founded in 1986. For nine days, classical, baroque, jazz, and world music concerts blend with tastings of Meursault wines, visits to estates, and dinners with artists, in the village's heritage sites.
The 2026 edition of the Festival De Bach à Bacchus takes place from Saturday, July 4 to Sunday, July 12, 2026 in Meursault. It marks the 40th anniversary of the association Les Amis de la Musique à Meursault, founded in 1986 by pianist Yves Henry. For nine days, the festival offers about twenty events — concerts, guided tastings, vineyard tours, workshops, and dinners — spread across the village's emblematic sites and at the winemakers' estates.
The concerts bring together established musicians and young talents: baroque, classical, jazz, and world music. Events are held in the Saint-Nicolas Church, at the Léproserie, in private residences, and within wine estates, where music is extended by tastings of Meursault's great white wines. An anniversary concert featuring Yves Henry and musicians from the Orchestre de Paris, as well as a festival dinner, punctuate this 40th edition.
