Ça Va Jazzer was a free, family-friendly jazz and blues festival held annually in Château-la-Vallière, Indre-et-Loire, until 2019. Organized by the Comité des Fêtes in the town hall park, this open-air festival offered an eclectic program blending swing, funk, soul, blues, gospel, gypsy jazz, and French chanson.
The event has not been renewed after the cancellation of the 2020 edition due to the health crisis.
ℹ️ Festival currently on hold. The 11th edition of Ça Va Jazzer took place on June 22 and 23, 2019, in Château-la-Vallière. The 2020 edition was canceled due to the health crisis and was not renewed in 2021. To date, no new edition has been publicly announced by the Comité des Fêtes or by the ECB agency, which handled the artistic direction.
For over ten years, the Ça Va Jazzer festival enlivened northern Touraine by offering a free music weekend in the town hall park of Château-la-Vallière. Organized by the municipal Comité des Fêtes in partnership with the town hall and the ECB (East Coast Booking) association, this festive and family-friendly event had become a highly anticipated gathering for jazz and blues enthusiasts in the region.
True to its motto, Ça Va Jazzer offered an eclectic and open program that explored all facets of jazz and its derivatives. Swing, funk, soul, blues, gospel, hip-hop, electro, gypsy jazz, theatrical cabaret, acoustic folk jazz, and reinvented French chanson coexisted on the festival stage.
The 2019 edition, the 11th of its name, notably welcomed Les Archets de Noé (burlesque musical theater), Harrison Swing, Gumbo Jazz, Alternate Cake (acoustic folk jazz), the Scratchophone Orchestra (electro swing), Yantrio (French chanson), and the brass band Les Comtesses.
The festival made it a point of honor to offer bands for all ages, from traditional blues to contemporary jazz. The idea was simple: as long as it got people jazzed, it was on the program. This open-mindedness allowed it to reach a wide audience, from jazz enthusiasts to families looking for a friendly musical outing.
The town hall park of Château-la-Vallière offered a green and pleasant setting to enjoy open-air concerts. The park's百年 trees created a shaded and bucolic atmosphere, ideal for appreciating music on warm summer days. The festival traditionally took place on the fourth weekend of June, coinciding with the Fête de la Musique and the Saint-Jean festivities.
Ça Va Jazzer was part of the cultural dynamic of Château-la-Vallière and its community of communes. The festival benefited from the support of ECB's artistic direction and contributed to the animation of this Touraine town located on the borders of Touraine and Anjou. Catering, a refreshment stand, and free parking near the park completed the experience.
The 2020 edition was supposed to be the 12th, but it was canceled due to the health crisis related to Covid-19. The ECB agency, which handled the artistic direction of the festival, publicly stated that the event would not be renewed in 2021. Since then, no new edition has been organized, and the official website of the Comité des Fêtes is no longer accessible. If a new edition were to emerge, the information would be relayed by the Château-la-Vallière town hall and by the social media of the Comité des Fêtes.
No 2026 edition of the Ça Va Jazzer festival has been announced. The festival has been on hold since 2019 — the 2020 edition was cancelled due to the health crisis and was not renewed.
