Since 2014, the ChARTres - Croisement des Arts festival has transformed the magnificent Collégiale Saint-André in Chartres, an 11th-century building, into a place for meeting and dialogue between the arts. This international festival with a unique identity invites artists from France and abroad to cross their perspectives, techniques, and inspirations in an exceptional heritage setting.

A Philosophy Founded on Encounter

The festival's objective is to promote artists and their arts from a perspective of beauty, joy, and hope to embellish our world and share this approach with as many people as possible. Painters, sculptors, pastel artists, musicians, watercolorists, photographers, fashion designers, and illustrators gather under the collegiate church's vaults to weave connections between their creations and offer the public a rich and moving artistic experience.

A Dense and Accessible Program

Each edition of the festival is structured around a unifying theme that guides the selection of works and inspires discussions. The program includes an international art exhibition, two conferences led by specialists and artists, and three artistic practice workshops open to the public. These workshops allow visitors to discover different techniques under the guidance of the exhibiting artists, thus creating a true bridge between creators and art lovers.

Memorable Thematic Editions

Each year, the festival renews its approach by choosing a theme that resonates with current events and aspirations. The 11th edition (2024) explored the theme “Teaching, Transmitting, Elevating,” questioning the role of art in the transmission of knowledge and emotions. The 12th edition (2025), titled “On the Road...,” invited artists to express their vision of travel, itinerancy, and the journey taken.

With over 3,500 visitors welcomed during the 2023 edition, the ChARTres - Croisement des Arts festival confirms its growing appeal. Admission is free, in line with the organizers' desire to make art accessible to all. The Collégiale Saint-André, with its imposing volumes and natural light, offers an ideal setting for the presented works, creating a striking dialogue between architectural heritage and contemporary creation.

Supported by the Fondation Dauphine and driven by a team of passionate volunteers, the festival has become a must-attend event on Chartres' cultural calendar and contributes to the city's international artistic influence.
