Walkers travel the plateau's paths to encounter the landscapes, stories, and people of this unique territory spanning three departments.

A festival to discover on foot
The Chemins de Rencontres festival is an invitation to discover the Millevaches Plateau through its paths and trails. Organized by the Pays'Sage association, this traveling event offers animated hikes led by storytellers, musicians, singers, and artists who punctuate the route with tales, melodies, and encounters. Each year, the festival moves to a different location on the plateau.
Nature, heritage, and Occitan culture
The thematic walks combine nature, heritage, and Occitan culture. In 2025, a 9 km hike paid tribute to Marcelle Delpastre (1925-1998), an ethnologist, poet, and farmer who loved the Occitan language, with readings, writing games, traditional tunes, songs, and stories. The festival thus celebrates the cultural and linguistic richness of this mid-mountain territory.
Shows, farmers' market, and concerts
Beyond the hikes, the program includes shows for all audiences, a farmers' market where local producers offer their specialties, and evening concerts. The festival takes place over two days in the open air, in villages and hamlets that offer a preserved natural setting. The spirit of the festival is based on simplicity, sharing, and encounters.
