Wine and craft festival in the heart of the medieval village of Nolay
De Cep en Verre is a festive event that has been celebrating the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune through wine, crafts, and live performance since 2004. Every first weekend of August, the historic center of Nolay, a charming medieval village located 18 km from Beaune, transforms into a festive village where winemakers, artisans, and street artists gather.
The heart of the event is a crafts village with around forty exhibitors inviting visitors to discover and share their craft: potters, glassblowers, blacksmiths, weavers, and local creators. In parallel, eight winemakers from the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune offer tasting workshops of their wines, all committed to sustainable practices (HVE certification, organic or biodynamic farming).
De Cep en Verre would not be complete without its street performances that liven up the streets and squares of Nolay: concerts, jugglers, fire-eaters, wandering musicians, and artistic performances create a festive and friendly atmosphere throughout the day. Admission is free, and a tasting pass for 7 euros (glass included) allows access to the winemakers' workshops.
On Sunday, a walking rally through the vineyards of the Hautes-Côtes completes the program. This hiking route, from 9 am to 2 pm, includes a meal at a wine estate, offering a sporty and gourmet discovery of the terroir (18 euros for adults, 9 euros for children under 12).
22nd edition of De Cep en Verre on August 1st and 2nd, 2026, in the historic center of Nolay (Côte-d'Or). Two days of celebration around the wine of Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, craftsmanship, and street arts. Free entry.
On August 1st and 2nd, 2026, from 10 AM to 7 PM, the historic center of Nolay hosts the 22nd edition of De Cep en Verre, an intergenerational and friendly festival organized by the Nolay Tourist Agency in partnership with the Syndicat de Défense des Hautes Côtes.
Around forty artisans (soap makers, tableware artists, leather goods makers, blacksmiths, stained-glass artists, ceramists, basket weavers, woodturners…) showcase and share their expertise in the village streets. On the wine side, eight winemakers from Hautes-Côtes de Beaune present the Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes appellation through guided tasting workshops.
Circus arts, jugglers, stilt walkers and fire-eaters, street performances, concerts (Harmonie de Sart Charneux, Duo Vivémi, Les Ducs) and artisan demonstrations punctuate these two days. For children: workshops (mosaic, woodturning), giant wooden games, and tastings for adults.
On Sunday, from 9 AM to 2 PM, a 7 km walking rally invites participants to meet winemakers through six tasting stops, with a meal served in a wine estate where a winemaker and their family welcome walkers into their cellar.
