Breton culture and fest-noz festival in the heart of Perros-Guirec
The Festival de la Cité des Hortensias is one of the highlights of the summer in Perros-Guirec, a seaside resort on the Côte de Granit Rose in the Côtes-d'Armor. Organized every year for over thirty-five years, this free festival invites locals and visitors to discover the richness of Breton traditions through a festive and participatory program. The festival's name refers to the famous hydrangeas that adorn the gardens and streets of Perros-Guirec, making the town a true floral city.
Over three days, the festival offers a rich and varied program combining costumed parades, traditional Breton dances, concerts, and fest-noz. Celtic circles and bagadoù liven up the town's streets, offering a colorful spectacle. The fest-noz, true Breton popular balls, conclude the evenings in a friendly and warm atmosphere, bringing together seasoned dancers and novices.
The festival is part of a long tradition of promoting Breton heritage on the north coast of Brittany. It highlights Breton culture in all its forms: music, dance, costume, crafts, and gastronomy. Food stalls offer local specialties, and the craft market showcases the know-how of the Côtes-d'Armor region. Free admission and the event's family spirit make it a must-attend summer event in Perros-Guirec.
The Festival de la Cité des Hortensias returns for its 38th edition from July 31 to August 2, 2026 in Perros-Guirec. Three days of free festivities celebrating Breton culture in the heart of the Pink Granite Coast, with parades, traditional dances, concerts, and fest-noz.
The festival takes place in the town center of Perros-Guirec (22700).
