About Festival Saumon

The Salmon Festival is a popular and free event organized every year in early July in Pont-Scorff, Morbihan, since 1994. Supported by the Pont-Scorff Animations association and over 350 volunteers, this open-air festival celebrates the Scorff, a mythical river for Atlantic salmon, through a week of activities and a festive weekend: concerts, street shows, brass bands, theater, children's games, and scientific activities focused on the river. The event attracts over 16,000 visitors over three days.

A festival born from a passion for the Scorff

The Salmon Festival was created in 1994 under the impetus of a handful of volunteers who loved the Scorff, an emblematic river in Morbihan known for housing one of France's last wild Atlantic salmon populations. Located at the Manoir de Saint-Urchaud, a magnificent estate on the riverbank, the festival has become, in nearly thirty years, an unmissable event of the Lorient summer.

A popular celebration by the river

The Salmon Festival is above all a great popular and free celebration that brings together all generations. For three days, the park of the Manoir de Saint-Urchaud transforms into a vast festive area with stage concerts, street shows and parades, brass bands, theater, scientific activities around the river and the Scorff ecosystem, and numerous children's games.

Environmental awareness at the heart of the project

True to its origins, the festival places environmental awareness at the heart of its program. Educational activities on the fauna and flora of the Scorff, workshops to discover the aquatic ecosystem, and meetings with scientists and naturalists allow the public to better understand the challenges of preserving this exceptional river and its emblematic fish, the Atlantic salmon.

Over 350 volunteers mobilized

The Salmon Festival is supported by the Pont-Scorff Animations (PSA) association and mobilizes over 350 volunteers each year. This collective commitment testifies to the attachment of the inhabitants of Pont-Scorff and the Lorient community to this event, which contributes to the influence of their commune and the enhancement of their natural and cultural heritage.

An exceptional setting at the Manoir de Saint-Urchaud

The Manoir de Saint-Urchaud, the festival site, offers a remarkable landscaped setting on the banks of the Scorff. The wooded park, crossed by the river, constitutes an ideal natural setting for an open-air festival. The proximity of Terres de Nataë (the former Pont-Scorff zoo converted into an animal sanctuary) enhances the tourist appeal of the site.

Festival Saumon — edition 2026

The 30th edition of the Salmon Festival takes place from June 29 to July 12, 2026 in Pont-Scorff, in Morbihan, on the theme « The robustness of life ». The event is structured in two parts: the Salmon Week (from June 29 to July 5), dedicated to nature, science and discoveries around the Scorff and its Atlantic salmon, then the big festive and free weekend from July 10 to 12 at the Manoir de Saint-Urchaud, with concerts, street shows and entertainment for all.

30th edition — « The robustness of life »

For its thirtieth anniversary, the Pont-Scorff Salmon Festival places its 2026 edition under the sign of « The robustness of life ». Through the figure of the wild Atlantic salmon, an emblematic migratory species of the Scorff, the festival questions our capacity to inhabit the world differently and celebrates the robustness of ecosystems.

Salmon Week (June 29 – July 5)

The first week is dedicated to nature, science and discoveries: educational activities for schoolchildren, visits to the migratory fish counting station, walks, workshops, conferences and evening meetings with researchers. In partnership with INRAE, Fédération pêche du Morbihan, AAPPMA du Scorff, SMBSEIL, Eau et Rivières de Bretagne, Les Phryganes, several scientific events are scheduled in the evening around wild fish, rivers and the robustness of life.

The big festive weekend (July 10 – 12)

The popular heart of the festival takes place from Friday, July 10 to Sunday, July 12, 2026 in the park of the Manoir de Saint-Urchaud. On the program: concerts, street shows, parades, nature activities and numerous games for children, in an open-air setting by the river. Admission remains entirely free, faithful to the spirit of popular celebration that has animated the event since 1994.

A festival driven by volunteers

The Salmon Festival is organized by the Pont-Scorff Animations (PSA) association and mobilizes more than 350 volunteers before, during and after the event. This collective commitment makes this event one of the highlights of the summer in the Lorient region.
