Urban art for ecology

The Festival In Cité is an original cultural event that takes place every year in June in Rostrenen and neighboring towns in Central Brittany. Organized by the association La Fourmi-e, this ecological urban art festival invites several artists in residence for a week to create works in situ, taking over the streets and public spaces of the town centers.

Artistic residencies and in situ creations

Each year, the collective invites artists to immerse themselves in the Central Brittany region to create works related to the place and its inhabitants. The creations are visible in the streets of the town, both during guided tours and in daily life. The festival offers guided tours in French and Breton, performances, meetings with artists, and participatory activities.

Exhibitions and cultural partnerships

In partnership with the Frac Bretagne and other cultural institutions, In Cité offers collective exhibitions in the public and cultural spaces of Rostrenen and neighboring towns. The media library, the Place de la République, the Gouarec aquatic center, and other venues host installations and works by invited artists.

Citizen participation and urban knitting

Each year, the collective invites the population to participate by creating knitted works to decorate urban furniture during the festival, a participatory and ecological initiative that brings residents closer to contemporary art.
