A festival for responsible eating
Since 2022, the Festival Manger Sain et Local has been held at the Lycée Agricole et Viticole d'Amboise (EDUCAVERT), in partnership with the territorial elected officials of the MSA Berry-Touraine (Mutualité Sociale Agricole). This committed event aims to raise public awareness about responsible eating, short supply chains, and sustainable development, in the magnificent setting of the banks of the Loire in Amboise.
Local producers at the heart of the event
The festival brings together organic and local producers from Touraine: market gardeners, fruit growers, winegrowers from Touraine appellations, breeders, cheesemakers, beekeepers, artisan bakers, and processors. All share the same conviction: to offer quality food that respects the environment and is rooted in the territory. Visitors can buy directly from producers and discover the richness of the Touraine terroir.
Workshops and conferences on healthy eating
Beyond the producers' market, the festival offers a rich program of cooking workshops, conferences, and demonstrations on the themes of healthy eating, seasonality, permaculture, composting, and reducing food waste. These educational events are for all audiences, from children to adults.
The agricultural college, a committed partner
The Lycée Agricole EDUCAVERT d'Amboise is an essential partner of the festival. First-year students and their teachers are actively involved in contributing to the success of the day, putting their learning into practice for a concrete and meaningful event. The school's setting, with its green spaces and agricultural facilities, offers an ideal educational environment.
A growing event
In just a few editions, the Festival Manger Sain et Local has found its audience and established itself as a fixture in the Touraine event landscape. The 4th edition in 2025 welcomed over 300 visitors, confirming the public's growing interest in responsible eating and short supply chains. The event is free and open to all.
Strong territorial commitment
Supported by the elected officials of MSA Berry-Touraine from the cantons of Amboise, Bléré, Château-Renault, and Vouvray, the festival is part of a sustainable territorial development approach. It helps to promote local producers, raise consumer awareness, and strengthen the links between the agricultural world and citizens.
