A traveling festival in the heart of Berry
Festiv'Arts-en-Berry was born in 2013 from the desire to bring culture closer to the inhabitants of the rural communes in northern Indre. This traveling festival offers, from May to September, live performance evenings in villages and on the heritage sites of the territory: castles, village squares, remarkable natural sites.
Street Arts, Circus, and Pyrotechnics
The programming of Festiv'Arts-en-Berry is resolutely multidisciplinary and popular. Each evening mixes street theater, circus, live music, storytelling, electro-swing, and pyrotechnic shows to create a unique festive moment. The invited companies offer formats adapted to the street and heritage spaces, in a spirit of conviviality and sharing.
Exemplary territorial anchoring
The festival travels through the communes of northern Indre, between Valençay, Levroux, Reuilly, Écueillé, and Saint-Maur. Each stop is an opportunity to highlight local heritage and unite residents around a quality cultural event. This approach to cultural dissemination in rural areas was rewarded with the first prize for "Local Development" from the Green Ribbon in November 2015.
A solidarity and sustainable commitment
Festiv'Arts-en-Berry stands out for its solidarity commitment. The festival favors working with local artists and service providers, consuming local products, and involving volunteers and residents in organizing the evenings. Labeled PACT (Territorial Artistic and Cultural Projects) by the Centre-Val de Loire Region, it embodies a vision of culture as a vector for social connection and local development.
A collective adventure
Driven since its inception by a passionate team based in Levroux, Festiv'Arts-en-Berry is the result of collective work involving municipalities, associations, artists, and volunteers. Each edition features between 8 and 12 stops in partner communes, with evenings open to all, in a spirit of popular celebration and artistic discovery.
