Multicultural festival in the Céou valley, in the heart of the Lot
Festi'ValCéou is a multicultural festival that takes place every summer in Concorès, in the Lot, in the heart of the Céou valley. Created in 2017 by the association Festi'Céou, it offers three days of concerts, street performances, theater, circus, slam, exhibitions, a literary space, and family activities. Supported by over 80 volunteers, this friendly and eco-responsible festival combines contemporary music, performing arts, and cultural encounters in a green rural setting, between Gourdon and Cahors. The mix of genres and openness to others are at the heart of its artistic project.
Born from the desire to create a place for cultural exchange in a rural area, Festi'ValCéou was launched in September 2017 in Concorès, a small village in the Lot located between Gourdon and Cahors. The association Festi'Céou, founded at the end of 2016, carries an ambitious project: to break down cultural and social barriers through artistic mixing and encounters. As its founders affirm, "only the mix of genres, encounters, and cultural métissage can serve openness to others and the life of the territory".
Festi'ValCéou is a resolutely multidisciplinary festival. Over three days and three evenings, the program combines concerts of contemporary music, classical music, French chanson, world music, street performances, theater, circus, slam, storytelling, and narrated walks. The festival refuses to be confined to a single genre and features artists singing in French, English, Occitan, Lingala, Portuguese, or Spanish.
Among the artists who have marked past editions are Joyce Jonathan, Mes Souliers Sont Rouges, Raoul Petite, Elmer Food Beat, La Caravane Passe, Carmen Maria Vega, Nathan Mameri, Lombre, and Chet Nuneta. The 2026 edition will feature Cali and Les Fatals Picards as headliners.
Beyond the evening concerts, the festival offers free daytime activities every day: performances by street theater companies, painting and ceramic exhibitions, a literary space with invited authors, creative workshops, wooden games, and a children's area. The days are designed for families, with free admission for children under 12 and reduced rates for those under 25 and low-income individuals.
Festi'ValCéou is driven by over 80 volunteers who work year-round to make this cultural event a success. The festival's catering highlights local products with dishes prepared by volunteers: aligot-saucisse, vegetarian platters, crepes, waffles, and local apple juice. The Festi'Céou association is not limited to the summer festival; it also hosts a cultural season throughout the year with concerts, workshops, and events in Concorès and the surrounding area, contributing to the cultural vitality of this rural territory in the Lot.
