The Fête de la Musique in Longjumeau: the town in music until the end of the night

In Longjumeau (91160), the Fête de la Musique on June 21st is more than just a day of concerts: since 2020, it has merged with the Town Festival, transforming the entire town center into a large festive and musical space from noon until 1 am. A unique popular event in Essonne, free and open to all.

The town center transformed into a stage

Several areas in the heart of Longjumeau host the musical festivities:

  • Rue du Président François Mitterrand: main street closed to traffic, transformed into a festive promenade
  • The Parc et la Halle Mandela: Longjumeau's reference cultural space, main stage for evening concerts
  • Place Steber: friendly atmosphere and street entertainment
  • The Mairie parking lot: entertainment village in the afternoon

A quality musical program

The musical program for the Fête de la Musique/Fête de la Ville of Longjumeau is structured around three highlights:

  1. The musical aperitif (7 pm–9 pm): saxophonist MikOsax opens the musical evening with a concert on the terrace, in a light and friendly atmosphere
  2. The live concert (9 pm–11 pm): the group Disc'Over offers eclectic covers from the 80s to today — rock, funk, French variety — to make the whole town dance
  3. The DJ set (11 pm–1 am): Monsieur Croque Madame closes the evening with a wild DJ set, to extend the party until the end of the night

The festive afternoon

The afternoon preceding the concerts is marked by free family entertainment: strolling band, clowns, cosplay shows, street arts, carousels, skimboard, laser tag, mini-golf and rugby activities. Terrace catering is provided by the town center merchants who are partners of the event.

Longjumeau, historic and musical city

Longjumeau is a town of about 22,000 inhabitants, known for its rich medieval heritage — Saint-Biaise-des-Simples chapel (12th century), 18th-century post relay — and for its cultural dynamism. The Halle Mandela and the Théâtre de Longjumeau offer quality shows throughout the year, reinforcing the town's musical and artistic identity.
