About Fête de la Saint-Erasme
Fête de la Saint-Erasme — edition 2026
The Saint-Érasme Festival is the great celebration of Ajaccio's fishermen and sailors, held annually in honour of Saint Érasme, patron saint of seafarers. For its 2026 edition, it takes place from Saturday, May 30th to Tuesday, June 2nd, 2026 around Port Tino Rossi and in Ajaccio city centre.
For four days, the sea is celebrated in a popular and warm atmosphere that brings together residents, families, visitors, and lovers of the coast. The programme includes: craft workshops and demonstrations (basketry, painting, forging), conferences and debates on artificial reefs, marine reserves, climate change and the future of fishing, scuba diving initiations, fishermen's meals based on seafood (bouillabaisse, fish soup, blue crab soup) and musical evenings.
Tuesday, June 2nd, Saint Érasme's Day, is the highlight: mass at 5 PM, a walking procession of the saint's statue to the port, followed by a sea procession around 7 PM with the blessing of the boats and a tribute to lost sailors, followed by a reception.
Organised by the City of Ajaccio with the fishermen's association I Pescadori Aiaccini, this traditional maritime festival is part of Ajaccio's identity.
