Celebrating the Village of Espeyrut

The Fête du Four d'Espeyrut is an annual event that celebrates the heritage and community spirit of the small village of Espeyrut, part of the municipality of Donzenac in Corrèze. Organized at the end of August by the Association pour l'animation du village d'Espeyrut, this festival honors the village's traditional bread oven, a symbol of rural heritage in the Corrèze region.

La Ronde du Four: Trail Running

The sporting highlight of the festival is La Ronde du Four, a nature trail race open to everyone. Two routes are available: 8 km and 16 km, allowing participants to choose according to their fitness level. These courses wind through the trails around Espeyrut, showcasing the rolling landscapes typical of Corrèze. Registration is available online via the ok-time.fr platform.

The trail attracts runners from across the region, creating a lively and competitive atmosphere from the early morning.

Family Treasure Hunt

A family treasure hunt titled "In Search of the Espeyrut Treasure" has been a feature of previous editions in the heart of the village. This free activity allows families to discover the heritage of Espeyrut in a fun way, exploring old houses, narrow streets, the traditional oven, and the forge (Rue de la Forge).

Meals, Pétanque, and Entertainment

Past editions have combined the trail race with a convivial lunch, a pétanque tournament (with on-site registration), pony rides for children, games, and grilled food in the evening. The specific program of events varies from year to year; we will publish the schedule for the current edition as soon as the association releases it.

Heritage: The Oven and the Forge

The village of Espeyrut preserves remnants of its rural past: the traditional oven that gives the festival its name, and the forge located on Rue de la Forge. The festival is an opportunity to showcase this heritage and introduce visitors to the history of the village.
