Jazz at the heart of northern Touraine

Every winter, the Jazz So Nord festival warms up February evenings in Rouziers-de-Touraine with a quality jazz and blues program. Organized at the Espace culturel Les Quatre Vents, this festival helps keep jazz music alive in the north of Touraine, far from the large venues of the Tours metropolis.

A cultural space dedicated to music

The Espace culturel Les Quatre Vents, inaugurated on January 23, 2010, was created by the Communauté de communes de Gâtine et Choisilles - Pays de Racan to promote culture in northern Touraine. This modern performance hall offers ideal acoustic conditions for appreciating jazz in all its forms, in an intimate setting that fosters proximity between musicians and the audience.

A varied jazz and blues program

Jazz So Nord offers a program that explores the multiple facets of jazz and blues. From gypsy jazz bands to contemporary jazz ensembles, as well as blues, swing, and improvised music, the festival offers a wide range of styles and musical aesthetics. Among the artists who have marked past editions are groups like The Swing Shouters, Choro Dé Aksak, and Ygranka.

By scheduling its concerts in February, Jazz So Nord stands out from most jazz festivals, which are generally held in the summer or fall.
