The Journées Gourmandes du Grand Morvan et des Pays de Bourgogne are one of the most important gastronomic events in the Côte-d'Or. Organized for over 35 years by the Association pour la Promotion des Produits Gourmands du Grand Morvan (APPGGM), they take place annually during Ascension weekend at the Halle Jean Bertin in Saulieu. For four days, the 6,000 m² hall transforms into a vast market of flavors and expertise, with nearly 9,000 visitors expected.
More than a hundred food and beverage exhibitors gather during the Journées Gourmandes: wines, champagne, craft beers, cider, liqueurs, Morvan charcuterie, Vendée oysters, game, fish, Loire goat cheeses, pastries, chocolates, jams, honeys, spices, and many other specialties. Visitors can taste and buy directly from producers, creating a true culinary tour of France. Culinary demonstrations and cooking competitions complete the program, and an area is dedicated to independent wine producers.
Saulieu, a small town in Morvan renowned for its gastronomic tradition since the 17th century, is the ideal setting for these days. The town has seen great chefs like Alexandre Dumaine and Bernard Loiseau, whose Michelin-starred restaurant Le Relais Bernard Loiseau perpetuates culinary excellence. The Journées Gourmandes are part of this tradition of hospitality and culinary pleasure that makes Saulieu famous. Some exhibitors faithfully return every year — like Pascal Laprée, producer of pâté and foie gras, present since the very first edition.
The 35th edition of the Journées Gourmandes du Grand Morvan et des Pays de Bourgogne was held from Thursday, May 14 to Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the Halle Jean Bertin in Saulieu, during Ascension weekend. The edition welcomed nearly 9,000 visitors.
From Thursday, May 14 to Sunday, May 17, 2026, the Halle Jean Bertin in Saulieu hosted the 35th edition of the Journées Gourmandes du Grand Morvan et des Pays de Bourgogne. For four days, more than a hundred producers and artisans introduced their specialties to approximately 9,000 visitors from Burgundy and beyond — a loyal audience, many of whom return every year.
This edition brought together a wide variety of producers: Morvan cured meats, Vendée oysters, Loire goat cheeses, wines, champagne, craft beers, cider, liqueurs, pastries, chocolates, jams, honeys, and spices. A dedicated area allowed visitors to meet independent wine producers. Culinary demonstrations and cooking competitions punctuated the weekend, in a friendly and festive atmosphere with evening entertainment. A free daycare service was offered to allow families to explore the flavors in complete peace of mind.
Among the regulars, Pascal Laprée, producer of pâté and foie gras, present since the very first edition, was once again among the exhibitors. As for new encounters, Vendée oyster farmer Marlène Tousaud highlighted the visitors' pleasure in seeing producers sometimes travel several hundred kilometers to participate in the fair. Jean-Paul Duviquet, president of the Journées Gourmandes, was delighted with the attendance, which was once again strong despite the rain: “the fair is always hugely successful.”
