Eco-responsible festival of contemporary music at the Jardins de l'Évêché of Blois
La Connexion Festival is an eco-responsible contemporary music festival held annually at the end of August in the Jardins de l'Évêché, in the historic heart of Blois. Created by a collective of passionate students, the festival has successfully united an intergenerational audience around an original program and a friendly, participatory spirit.
La Connexion offers a musical journey through the most vibrant currents of the current scene: funk, pop, rock, electro, hip-hop, soul, and world music. Each edition mixes emerging artists and more established acts, with a particular focus on discovering new talent. The program unfolds over two evenings, Friday and Saturday, offering about ten open-air concerts in a warm and danceable atmosphere.
The Jardins de l'Évêché, located on the heights of Blois with a breathtaking view of the Loire and the Château Royal, provide a remarkable setting for this festival. This terraced garden, a listed historic monument, offers an intimate and green environment that contrasts with large traditional festival spaces, creating a unique proximity between artists and the audience.
Since its creation, La Connexion has placed an environmental commitment at the heart of its project. The festival favors short supply chains for catering, uses reusable tableware, implements rigorous selective sorting, and raises festival-goers' awareness of ecological issues through workshops and dedicated stands. Sustainable transport is encouraged to access the site, which is easily reachable on foot from the center of Blois.
Beyond the concerts, the La Connexion association develops cultural mediation projects, music workshops, and round tables on artistic practices and civic engagement throughout the year. The festival also serves as a springboard for young volunteers who actively participate in its organization, acquiring skills in cultural event management.
The Jardins de l'Évêché are located in the historic center of Blois, a 10-minute walk from the Blois-Chambord SNCF train station. From Place du Château, take Rue du Haut Bourg to the garden entrance.
Several public parking lots are available nearby: the Château parking and the Place Valin-de-la-Vaissière parking. Parking is free in the evening and on weekends in certain areas. Carpooling is strongly encouraged.
The Blois-Chambord station is served by TER Centre-Val de Loire trains from Tours (30 min) and Orléans (45 min). Additional trains are scheduled during the festival period.
Friday: gates open at 5:30 PM, concerts until midnight.
Saturday: gates open at 2:30 PM, concerts until midnight.
Prices are affordable and vary by edition. Tickets are available online on the festival's official website and partner ticketing platforms. Reduced rates are offered for students and job seekers.
A food and drink area with local and seasonal products is available on site. Bar with local craft beers, Loire wines, and non-alcoholic beverages. Reusable tableware with a deposit system.
The site is partially accessible to people with reduced mobility. Contact the organization in advance for specific accessibility needs.
