Three Partner Venues
The performances are spread across three venues in L'Aigle city centre: Salle Michaux (rue de la Fontaine Salée), Salle d'exposition des Tanneurs (Centre Culturel des Tanneurs), and Salle Risle en Scène. This distribution reflects the diversity of offerings, from revisited classical theatre to contemporary creations.
A Musical Preamble
The festival week opens on Thursday, June 4 with a UNISSON concert, ahead of the two theatrical performances of the weekend. The City of L'Aigle thus takes advantage of the festival to offer a multidisciplinary cultural highlight to its residents and visitors to the area.
Free Admission, Pay-What-You-Can
All festival performances are free admission, pay-what-you-can. The public is invited to support the troupes and the municipal cultural program by making a donation at the end of the shows. For other highlights of the cultural season, tickets can be purchased online on the City's ticketing website (saisonculturellelaigle.mapado.com) or directly at the cultural service.
The Spirit of the Festival
Beyond the performances, L'Aigle en Scène is a place for encounters and exchanges between amateur actors and the public. Performances are often followed by informal discussion moments where connections are forged between local troupes, regulars of Salle Risle en Scène, and visitors from the wider Pays d'Ouche. Amateur theater in the spotlight
L'Aigle en Scène is an annual event that celebrates amateur theater in the town of L'Aigle. Every June, the festival offers a stage to local troupes who present to the public the result of a year of rehearsals and work, guided by performing arts professionals. From classic comedy to contemporary theater, including vaudeville and collective creation, the program reflects the diversity of approaches and sensibilities.
A springboard for local talents
The festival serves as a true springboard for amateur actors from the Pays d'Ouche. Participating troupes, from theater workshops, youth centers, cultural associations, or groups formed within health facilities, find here the opportunity to perform in front of an enthusiastic audience. The festival highlights hidden talents and reveals the richness of theatrical practice in rural areas.
Varied performances
The program mixes genres and registers: comedies, dramas, revisited classic plays, original creations, and improvisations. Some performances are the result of collaborations between patients from care centers and associate actors, demonstrating the inclusive dimension of the festival.
Friendliness and exchange
L'Aigle en Scène is distinguished by its spirit of conviviality. Performances are followed by moments of exchange between actors and spectators, in a relaxed and benevolent atmosphere. The festival is a place for encounters where links are forged between different troupes and where new artistic projects are sometimes born.
Professional support
Throughout the year, troupes benefit from the support of professional directors who guide them in their work of interpretation, staging, and character development. This collaboration between amateurs and professionals contributes to the quality of the performances presented during the festival.
L'Aigle, a city of culture
The town of L'Aigle, located in the northeast of the Orne department in the Pays d'Ouche, has a dynamic cultural season supported by the municipal cultural service and the Risle en Scène hall. The L'Aigle en Scène festival is part of this proactive cultural policy that gives pride of place to amateur artistic practices and local creation.
