About Flâneries Musicales
A festival at the heart of Reims' heritage
Since 1990, Les Flâneries Musicales de Reims has transformed the City of Coronations into a vast open-air musical stage. Founded by Jean Falala, then mayor of Reims, and Gabrielle Nguyen, delegate for tourism and culture, the festival has established itself as one of the major classical music events in France. From its very first edition, 60 concerts brought together 13,000 spectators, and the prestigious violinist Lord Yehudi Menuhin became its first patron in 1991.
An eclectic and demanding program
The festival offers a rich and varied program, blending classical, baroque, contemporary, jazz, and world music. Concerts take place in the most prestigious venues in Reims: Notre-Dame Cathedral, Saint-Remi Basilica, the Palais du Tau, private gardens, private mansions, and the city's cultural spaces. The open-air picnic concerts are one of the festival's highlights, allowing the public to enjoy music in a bucolic and friendly setting.
Over 400 artists every summer
Each edition brings together over 400 artists from around the world, from international soloists to emerging young talents. The festival makes it a point of honor to promote discovery and transmission, with conferences, artist meet-and-greets, and cultural activities for all audiences. Regional and national influence
With over three decades of existence, Les Flâneries Musicales de Reims has gained a reputation that extends far beyond the borders of the Marne region. The festival is a member of France Festivals and benefits from the support of numerous institutional and private partners. It actively contributes to the cultural and tourist influence of Reims and the Grand Est region.
Flâneries Musicales — edition 2026
The 37th edition of the Flâneries Musicales de Reims takes place from June 18 to July 10, 2026, featuring around fifty concerts in some thirty emblematic venues of the City of Coronations: Saint-Remi Basilica, Théâtre du Manège, Domaine Pommery, Hôtel de Ville, Sciences Po, Saint-Remi Museum, and many other heritage gems. The festival opens on June 18 with the Prague Royal Philharmonic in an opening concert «An Evening in Prague» at the Saint-Remi Basilica, and throughout its program offers great international soloists (Yevgeny Sudbin, Les Musiciens de Saint-Julien), young talent recitals, and educational conferences.
2026 Edition — 37th Flâneries Musicales de Reims
From June 18 to July 10, 2026, Les Flâneries Musicales de Reims will take over some thirty emblematic venues in the city for its 37th edition. Around fifty concerts blend classical, baroque, romantic, contemporary, and world music, with particular attention paid to young talents and discoveries.
International Headliners
The festival opens on Thursday, June 18 at 8 PM at the Saint-Remi Basilica with the Prague Royal Philharmonic for an opening concert titled « An Evening in Prague ». Pianist Yevgeny Sudbin gives a grand recital on Thursday, July 2 at 8 PM in the cloister of the Saint-Remi Historical Museum. Les Musiciens de Saint-Julien present their creation « Beauté Barbare » on Tuesday, July 7 at 8 PM at the Théâtre du Manège.

The program unfolds in the most prestigious and atypical venues in Reims: Saint-Remi Basilica, Théâtre du Manège, Hôtel de Ville, Domaine Pommery, Champagne Charles de Cazanove, Champagne Louis Roederer, Chapelle Saint-Joseph, Musée Saint-Remi, Sciences Po, Villa Douce, Église Saint-Jacques, Théâtre du Chemin Vert, or the Parc de Champagne. Each venue offers unique acoustics and atmosphere to rediscover the classical repertoire.
Young Talents and Transmission
True to its mission of discovery, the festival dedicates a day to young talents on Sunday, July 5 at Villa Douce, with three afternoon recitals: Vincent Amir-Tahmasseb on harp, followed by pianists Jérémy Zhiqian Lyu and Elian Ramamonjisoa. Educational conferences accompany the program: « What does a conductor do? » and « The oboe gives the A ».
