Les Flâneries Musicales de Reims

A festival at the heart of Reims' heritage

Since 1990, Les Flâneries Musicales de Reims has transformed the City of Coronations into a vast open-air musical stage. Founded by Jean Falala, then mayor of Reims, and Gabrielle Nguyen, delegate for tourism and culture, the festival has established itself as one of the major classical music events in France. From its very first edition, 60 concerts brought together 13,000 spectators, and the prestigious violinist Lord Yehudi Menuhin became its first patron in 1991.

An eclectic and demanding program

The festival offers a rich and varied program, blending classical, baroque, contemporary, jazz, and world music. Concerts take place in the most prestigious venues in Reims: Notre-Dame Cathedral, Saint-Remi Basilica, the Palais du Tau, private gardens, private mansions, and the city's cultural spaces. The open-air picnic concerts are one of the festival's highlights, allowing the public to enjoy music in a bucolic and friendly setting.

Over 400 artists every summer

Each edition brings together over 400 artists from around the world, from international soloists to emerging young talents. The festival makes it a point of honor to promote discovery and transmission, with conferences, artist meet-and-greets, and cultural activities for all audiences. Les Flâneries Musicales embodies the art of living in Reims, combining heritage, Champagne gastronomy, and quality music.

Regional and national influence

With over three decades of existence, Les Flâneries Musicales de Reims has gained a reputation that extends far beyond the borders of the Marne region. The festival is a member of France Festivals and benefits from the support of numerous institutional and private partners. It actively contributes to the cultural and tourist influence of Reims and the Grand Est region.
