The gastronomic festival of Cahors celebrating the flavors of Quercy
Created in 2009 by the Communauté d'Agglomération du Grand Cahors, Lot of Saveurs was born from a desire to celebrate what makes the region famous: its gastronomy. This popular, festive, and creative festival has established itself as the major culinary event in the Lot department, attracting thousands of visitors to the heart of the Lot prefecture each year.
The festival highlights the exceptional richness of Quercy products: black truffles from Périgord-Quercy, Périgord walnuts AOP, Quercy saffron, Quercy melon, Label Rouge farm-raised lamb from Quercy, foie gras, and Rocamadour AOP cheeses. These are the gastronomic treasures that make this Occitanie region so proud.
The highlight and pride of the festival, the Grand Banquet is a unique event. More than 2,300 guests sit together on the allées Fénelon in the heart of Cahors to enjoy a gastronomic menu made exclusively from local, labeled products. Melon soup, foie gras terrine, Quercy salad, Rocamadour, and seasonal fruit desserts make up a festive meal accompanied by wines from the Cahors appellation.
This eco-responsible event invites participants to bring their own cutlery, in a sustainable development approach recognized by the Syded du Lot label obtained in 2019 and renewed in 2022.
Beyond the banquet, Lot of Saveurs offers a varied program that unfolds over several days:
Lot of Saveurs gives a prime place to the vineyards of the Lot. The festival celebrates the four appellations that make the region's wine richness: AOC Cahors, the famous "black wine" from the Malbec grape, IGP Côtes du Lot, Coteaux du Quercy, and Coteaux de Glanes. Tastings, meetings with winemakers, and oenological events allow visitors to discover these exceptional wines.
The celebration doesn't stop at the Cahors weekend. Throughout the summer, the Lot of Saveurs caravan travels through the towns of Grand Cahors every Tuesday, from July to August. These traveling gourmet markets offer culinary demonstrations, producer markets, and shared meals in the villages of Douelle, Saint-Pierre-Lafeuille, Lherm, Le Montat, Trespoux-Rassiels, Calamane, and Catus.
The quality and originality of Lot of Saveurs have been recognized with numerous distinctions. The festival received the label from the French Commission for UNESCO in 2011. It obtained the eco-responsible certification delivered by the Syded du Lot in 2019 and 2022. In 2022, the event was featured in the governmental program of the Year of Gastronomy, confirming its national influence.
The 16th edition of Lot of Saveurs takes place on Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28, 2026, on the allées Fénelon in Cahors. This year, the Croustilot is the flagship product of the edition, celebrating 30 years of the emblematic bread of Lot and its brotherhood, with Christian Vabret, Meilleur Ouvrier de France Boulanger, as guest of honor. On the program: the Grand Banquet on Saturday evening bringing together over 2,300 guests, the Brunch of Lot's taste artisans on Sunday, the Village des Saveurs, the Battle des Gourmets, workshops, Cahors wine tastings, and concerts.
