About LR9 Festival
The LR9 festival brings together basketball, e-gaming, and road safety awareness for a weekend in Villenave-d'Ornon, Gironde. The LR9BYLORENZO association created this event in memory of Lorenzo Renou, a promising young French basketball player who tragically passed away at 16 in May 2025 following a road accident on his way home from a game.

Friday, September 4th
- 6:00 PM — Doors open at the Elisabeth Riffiod complex
- 7:00 PM — NF2 opening match
- Live music, LR9 Challenge, and special guest ambassadors
Saturday, September 5th and Sunday, September 6th
Elisabeth Riffiod complex, from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
- U18 Elite tournaments (girls and boys), Betclic Espoirs
- NBA2K2026 mobile tournament
- Live music, artistic performances, graffiti artists, and entertainment
- Prevention Zone: road safety, anti-doping, and substance abuse awareness
- Sports Performance Zone: workshops on physical and mental well-being for athletes
Saturday evening, September 5th — Palais des Sports de Bordeaux
- 6:00 PM — NM1 match, music, and DJ sets
- 9:00 PM — Betclic Elite match (featuring two teams from the French Betclic Elite championship)
Founded on December 5, 2025, the LR9BYLORENZO association is hosting this inaugural edition at the Elisabeth Riffiod sports complex. The program features U18 Elite and Betclic Espoirs basketball tournaments, an NBA2K e-gaming competition, live music, graffiti artists, and dedicated zones for road safety and athlete well-being. A parallel event will take place at the Palais des Sports in Bordeaux, featuring an NM1 match followed by a Betclic Elite game. All proceeds go toward helping amateur clubs secure safer travel for their teams.
