The Marathon des Châteaux du Médoc returns for its 40th edition on Saturday, September 5, 2026, starting at 9:30 AM from the quays of Pauillac (Gironde). Over 42.195 km through the Médoc vineyards, runners will cross the estates of the Pauillac, Saint-Julien, and Saint-Estèphe appellations. Fancy dress is mandatory, and the 2026 edition honors the theme 'The 80s'.
True to its reputation as 'the most festive marathon in the world', the course offers numerous refreshment points and Bordeaux wine tasting stations, complemented by refined dishes (oysters, foie gras, cheese, entrecôte, ice cream). The time limit to complete the race is set at 6 hours and 30 minutes.
The event is part of a full weekend of activities, from Friday, September 4 to Sunday, September 6, 2026: bib collection and Marathon Expo, convivial meals, Sunday walk in the vineyards, awards ceremony, free concert, and fireworks display.
