Meusnes in Jazz: Where Jazz Meets the Terroir of the Loire Valley
Born in 2023, Meusnes in Jazz is a festival that happily celebrates the meeting between jazz music and the wine-growing terroir of Loir-et-Cher. Set in the enchanting grounds of the wooded park of Château de Quinçay, a family wine estate located in Meusnes, the festival offers a unique experience where the pleasures of the ear and the palate combine harmoniously.
A Wine Estate Steeped in History
The Domaine du Château de Quinçay is a wine-growing property passed down through generations since 1860. Its wooded park, shaded alleys, and characterful buildings provide an ideal setting for a human-sized festival. The estate produces wines under the Touraine, Touraine-Chenonceaux, and Valençay appellations, which are showcased throughout the day.
An Eclectic Jazz Program
The festival offers a full day of concerts on its main stage, from mid-afternoon until the evening. The program covers a wide spectrum of jazz and its related genres: traditional jazz, gypsy jazz, soul, blues, funk, and electro-swing. Four to five bands perform one after another, offering the audience a rich and varied musical journey, from revisited standards to the most audacious contemporary creations.
Terroir and Gastronomy on the Menu
Meusnes in Jazz is not just a music festival: it is also a celebration of the local terroir. Visitors can taste wines from the three represented appellations — Touraine, Touraine-Chenonceaux, and Valençay — as well as cheeses from the Selles-sur-Cher and Valençay appellations. Local producers are present to showcase the authentic flavors of this land at the crossroads of Sologne, Berry, and Touraine.
A Partnership with Maison du Blues
The festival benefits from the collaboration of the Maison du Blues of Châtres-sur-Cher, an emblematic venue on the regional music scene that hosts international artists of blues, jazz, and related music throughout the year. This partnership guarantees a high-quality program and a network of leading artists.
