Mille Voci è Mille Scritti in Sotta
Mille Voci è Mille Scritti ("A Thousand Voices and a Thousand Writings") is a literature and oral tradition festival organized every autumn in the commune of Sotta, Southern Corsica. Supported by the Kimamori association in partnership with the commune of Sotta and the Communauté de Communes, the festival celebrates Corsican oral tradition and contemporary literary creation.
A festival born in 2022
The first edition was held from November 11 to 13, 2022, in Sotta. Since then, the event has become a major cultural highlight in Southern Corsica, with a new theme each year:
- 2022 — 1st edition (November)
- 2023 — 2nd edition
- 2024 — 3rd edition on the theme "Ways of Living"
- 2025 — 4th edition (October 24-26) on the theme "Family Stories"
On the program
Each edition offers author meetings, readings, writing workshops, storytelling performances, exhibitions, and youth activities. The festival brings together mainland authors invited for their recent publications with Corsican authors, some of whom are laureates of the Prix des Lecteurs de Corse.
An itinerant project
Beyond the autumn festival, the Kimamori association organizes a "U Veranu" tour in spring, extending the project to other communes in Corsica (notably Bonifacio, L'Île-Rousse).
