About Music Day in Bordeaux
Every June 21, Bordeaux celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival): hundreds of artists, DJs, and amateur musicians freely take over the city's streets, squares, parks, and quays. Organized by the City of Bordeaux, the day is entirely free and blends all genres, from electro to rock, pop to classical, rap to reggae.

As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Bordeaux into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces, from mid-afternoon until the heart of the night, in all styles and for all audiences.
A festival throughout the city
Usually, the City of Bordeaux deploys "Bordeaux Culture" stages distributed throughout the city, complemented by initiatives from bars, associations, and collectives. The festival takes over emblematic central locations — Place de la Comédie and the forecourt of the Grand-Théâtre, Cour Mably, Place Pey-Berland, Parc Bordelais, Parc aux Angéliques — as well as the Garonne quays, near Place de la Bourse.
