Parentis-en-Born Book Fair: over twenty years of literary passion
Since its creation, the Parentis-en-Born Book Fair has continued to grow to become one of the major literary events in the Landes department. Every year in June, the Roland Portalier Arenas in Parentis-en-Born host a full day dedicated to books, reading, and encounters between authors and readers.
More than sixty exhibitors
The fair brings together more than sixty authors, illustrators, publishers, and booksellers from all over Nouvelle-Aquitaine and beyond. The diversity of genres represented enriches the event:
- Novels and short stories: contemporary, historical, crime, science fiction literature
- Children's literature: illustrated albums, comic books, novels for teenagers
- Poetry and essays: poetry collections, literary and philosophical essays
- Comic books and manga: authors and illustrators of the 9th art
- Regional works: local history, Landes heritage, discovery guides
- Independent publishing: quality small publishing houses and self-publishing
A rich and participatory program
The Book Fair offers much more than sales and signing booths. The day is filled with various activities:
- Signings and meetings: authors are present all day to interact with readers and sign their books
- Writing and illustration workshops: led by professional authors and illustrators, these workshops are open to all ages
- Children's activities: storytelling, book creation workshops, literary games, and meetings with children's authors

The Parentis-en-Born Book Fair returns for its 23rd edition on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the Roland Portalier Arenas, from 10 AM to 5 PM.
This unmissable cultural event in Parentis will bring together authors, illustrators, publishers, and booksellers for a day dedicated to sharing and literary discovery. The detailed program of activities, workshops, and meetings will be announced in spring 2026 on the website of the City of Parentis-en-Born.

Practical Information
Location
The fair takes place at the Roland Portalier Arenas, a covered cultural space located in the town center of Parentis-en-Born (40160). The arena's layout allows for smooth circulation between stands, activity areas, and reading zones, in a bright and pleasant atmosphere.
Dates and times
The fair takes place every year in June, on a Saturday, from 10 AM to 5 PM. Authors are present all day for signings and exchanges with the public. Workshops and activities are scheduled throughout the day.
Prices
Admission to the fair is completely free. Writing and illustration workshops and children's activities are also free and open to everyone, subject to availability.
Access
- By car: Parentis-en-Born is located 20 km north of Biscarrosse and 75 km north of Dax, accessible via the D652 and D43. Free parking in the town center near the arenas. Signage will be in place on the day of the event.
- By train: Morcenx station is 30 km away, then by car or carpooling.
- By bike: Cycle path around Parentis lake. Bicycle parking near the arenas.
Food and drink
Food and drink areas are set up in the immediate vicinity of the fair. Shops, cafes, and restaurants in the town center of Parentis are also within walking distance, offering a wide choice for lunch or a break.
Audience and accessibility
The fair is aimed at all audiences, from the youngest to the oldest. Specific activities are planned for children and families: storytelling, book creation workshops, literary games. PRM access is ensured at the arenas.

Authors, publishers, and booksellers wishing to participate in the fair can download the registration form from the website of the City of Parentis-en-Born (parentis.fr). Registrations generally open in the autumn of the preceding year. As places are limited, it is advisable to register quickly.
