Parentis Book Fair — edition 2026
The 23rd edition of the Parentis-en-Born Book Fair takes place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the Arènes Roland Portalier, from 10 am to 5 pm. More than 100 authors present their 2026 new releases in various genres (novel, thriller, fantasy, historical, autobiography, poetry, youth, erotic). Free workshops, entertainment, book artisans, and international catering on site. Free admission.

The Parentis-en-Born Book Fair returns for its 23rd edition on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 10 am to 5 pm, at the Arènes Roland Portalier. Organized by the City of Parentis-en-Born (Pôle Animation et Vie de la Cité), this major cultural event in the Landes region brings together authors, illustrators, publishers, booksellers, and reading enthusiasts for a day dedicated to discovery, exchange, and creativity.
More than 100 authors present
This new edition brings together over one hundred authors who will present their 2026 new releases across a wide variety of literary genres:
- Novel, historical novel, and autobiography
- Thriller and detective fiction
- Fantasy and speculative fiction
- Poetry and essays
- Children's literature and illustrated albums
- Erotic literature
Authors will be present all day for signings and discussions with the public.
Free workshops
Several workshops are offered free of charge throughout the day, at 10 am, 11 am, 2 pm, and 4 pm:
- Strip or not Strip? — comic strip and illustrated comic creation workshop (registration at 05 58 82 71 46)
- Free Expression Wall — spontaneous chalk creativity space, open to all
- Story Cube — story generator using dice, a fun activity for all ages

Several artisans and creators related to the world of books offer their creations:

International food areas are set up in the immediate vicinity of the fair:

Authors, illustrators, publishers, and booksellers wishing to participate can download the registration form from the parentis.fr website and return it to the Pôle Animation et Vie de la Cité (PAVC) by email at [email protected] or in person at the town hall.

Location
The fair takes place at the Roland Portalier Arenas, a covered cultural space located in the town center of Parentis-en-Born (40160). The arena's layout allows for smooth circulation between stands, activity areas, and reading zones, in a bright and pleasant atmosphere.
Dates and times
The fair takes place every year in June, on a Saturday, from 10 AM to 5 PM. Authors are present all day for signings and exchanges with the public. Workshops and activities are scheduled throughout the day.
Prices
Admission to the fair is completely free. Writing and illustration workshops and children's activities are also free and open to everyone, subject to availability.
Access
- By car: Parentis-en-Born is located 20 km north of Biscarrosse and 75 km north of Dax, accessible via the D652 and D43. Free parking in the town center near the arenas. Signage will be in place on the day of the event.
- By train: Morcenx station is 30 km away, then by car or carpooling.
- By bike: Cycle path around Parentis lake. Bicycle parking near the arenas.
Food and drink
Food and drink areas are set up in the immediate vicinity of the fair. Shops, cafes, and restaurants in the town center of Parentis are also within walking distance, offering a wide choice for lunch or a break.
Audience and accessibility
The fair is aimed at all audiences, from the youngest to the oldest. Specific activities are planned for children and families: storytelling, book creation workshops, literary games. PRM access is ensured at the arenas.

Since its creation, the Parentis-en-Born Book Fair has continued to grow to become one of the major literary events in the Landes department. Every year in June, the Roland Portalier Arenas in Parentis-en-Born host a full day dedicated to books, reading, and encounters between authors and readers.
More than sixty exhibitors
The fair brings together more than sixty authors, illustrators, publishers, and booksellers from all over Nouvelle-Aquitaine and beyond. The diversity of genres represented enriches the event:
