Contemporary circus in Dijon since 2009
Prise de CirQ' is Dijon's contemporary circus festival, powered by the Cirq'ônflex association. Created in 2009, it has established itself over the years as a must-attend event for circus arts in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, bringing together nearly 7,000 spectators each year around a dozen professional companies.
A festival in two parts
For several editions, Prise de CirQ' has unfolded in two acts: a first act in April, in a short, indoor format, and a second act in June, more extensive and primarily set in the public space. This dual timing allows for the exploration of the full diversity of contemporary circus, from intimate forms to large-scale outdoor performances.
National and international companies
Prise de CirQ's programming highlights the richness of current circus creation, inviting renowned companies and emerging artists from all over France and abroad. Acrobatics, juggling, trapeze, tightrope, Chinese pole, contemporary clowning: all circus disciplines are represented, with a particular focus on artistic innovation and genre transversality.
Circus in the city
One of the festival's unique features is its integration into Dijon's public spaces. Big tops, squares, parks, and streets of Dijon transform into circus rings, offering the public unexpected encounters with circus arts. This urban dimension makes Prise de CirQ' an open and accessible festival, reaching both circus enthusiasts and curious passers-by.
