About Restonica Trail by UTMB
The Restonica Trail by UTMB is one of Corsica's major trail running events, organized every summer in Corte, in the heart of Haute-Corse. Born in 2008, following in the footsteps of the Raid Inter-Lacs, the event joined the prestigious UTMB World Series circuit in 2022. In July 2026, it celebrates its 17th edition with four race formats, from 17 km to the 110 km ultra-trail, set against the spectacular backdrop of the Restonica gorges and the glacial peaks of the Corsica Regional Natural Park.
The Restonica Trail by UTMB in Corte
The Restonica Trail by UTMB is today the most popular trail running event in Corsica, organized every summer in Corte, the historical capital of Haute-Corse, perched in the heart of the Restonica gorges. Born in 2008, following in the footsteps of the former Raid Inter-Lacs, the event joined the global UTMB World Series circuit in 2022 among the 19 founding races, opening the doors to the qualification system for the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc in Chamonix.
Four formats for all runners
The festival offers four races that allow every runner, from beginner to seasoned ultra-trailer, to find their challenge :
- U Giru di Tumbone (GT) — 17 km, 650 m D+, start Friday evening, accessible from 18 years old
- Tavignanu Trail (TT) — 33 km, 2,400 m D+, start Saturday morning
- Restonica Trail (RT) — 67 km, 3,950 m D+, start Saturday at dawn
- Ultra-Trail di Corsica (UTC) — 110 km, 7,200 m D+, start Thursday evening, 48-hour time limit, the monster of Corsica
An exceptional playground
The routes take in the most emblematic landscapes of central Corsica : Restonica gorges, Lake Ninu and its high-altitude peat bogs, glacial lakes of Capitellu and Melu, Bocca alle Porte pass (2,252 m), Bocca Crucetta (2,415 m), Camputile plateau, Padule and Cogna sheepfolds, centuries-old Laricio pine forests. Starts and finishes all take place from the historic center of Corte (Cours Paoli or Rond-point de la Mairie).
A local and volunteer organization
The event is run by the Restonica Trail Association, a local team of about fifteen active members, supported by nearly 300 volunteers who ensure the welcome of participants, trail safety, management of aid stations, and animation of the race village. The event has become a highlight of the Corsican summer, attracting over a thousand runners each year from all over France and Europe.

Restonica Trail by UTMB — 2026 Edition
From Thursday, July 9 to Saturday, July 11, 2026, Corte hosts the 17th edition of the Restonica Trail by UTMB. Four races on the program, starts spread over three days, and a new passage of the UTMB World Series circuit on the Isle of Beauty.
The program by race
- UTC100M — Ultra-Trail di Corsica : 110 km, 7,200 m D+, start Thursday, July 9 at 11:00 PM from Cours Paoli, time limit 48 h. Route through the peaks and glacial lakes (Bocca Crucetta 2,415 m). Running Stones Category 4.
- GT20K — U Giru di Tumbone : 17 km, 650 m D+, start Friday, July 10 at 6:00 PM from Rond-point de la Mairie, time limit 3h30. Technical route on the old Mare a Mare Nord mule track and the ridges of Monte Tumbone.
- RT100K — Restonica Trail : 67 km, 3,950 m D+, start Saturday, July 11 at 04:30 AM from Cours Paoli, time limit 19 h. Passage through the sheepfolds of Padule, Lake Ninu, Camputile plateau, Bocca alle Porte pass (2,252 m), Lakes Capitellu and Melu. Running Stones Category 3.
- TT50K — Tavignanu Trail : 33 km, 2,400 m D+, start Saturday, July 11 at 06:30 AM from Cours Paoli, time limit 9h30. Demanding initial climb of 6.2 km / 1,400 m D+, crossing the Tavignanu valley, Bocca Canaglia pass (1,790 m).
UTMB World Series Advantages
Finishers obtain Running Stones giving access to the registration lottery for the UTMB in Chamonix. The first three of each event get direct qualification.

Registration open until June 30, 2026 on the official UTMB World Series platform. FFA license or Health Prevention Pathway mandatory. Minimum age 20 years (18 years for the GT).

Access
Corte is located in the center of Corsica, accessible by train (Chemins de Fer de la Corse, free transport for registered runners) or by road from Bastia (1h), Ajaccio (1h15) or Calvi (2h). Official partners offer preferential rates : Corsica Ferries (-15%), Air Corsica (-30% on flights from July 2 to 18).
