The ethical and responsible festival at the Domaine de Candé
Terres du Son is an eco-responsible contemporary music festival that takes place every summer at the Domaine de Candé in Monts, Indre-et-Loire. Created in 2005, it actively engages in ecological transition through a free-access Eco-Village, free shuttles, and an ambitious sustainable development policy. For three days in July, the festival hosts national and international artists in an exceptional natural setting, combining music, conviviality, and environmental commitment.
Terres du Son was born in 2005 from the desire to create a contemporary music festival rooted in the values of sustainable development. Located at the Domaine de Candé, owned by the Departmental Council of Indre-et-Loire in Monts, the festival has successfully combined artistic quality and environmental commitment to become one of the major musical events in the Centre-Val de Loire region.
Terres du Son stands out for its ethical and responsible approach, which translates into concrete actions: waste reduction, selective sorting, reusable cups, catering prioritizing short circuits and local products, promotion of soft and collective mobility. The festival offers free shuttles in partnership with Rémi from Tours station, as well as free TER trains between Tours and Monts. A cycling route allows access to the site in 1 hour and 15 minutes from Tours station. The Éco-Village, with free and open access, offers conferences, participatory workshops, exhibitions, and meetings on environmental and societal issues.
Each summer, Terres du Son presents an ambitious program on its main stage, the Prairie, and on secondary stages. The festival hosts artists from the French and international scene, covering a wide musical spectrum: pop, rock, electro, hip-hop, French chanson, world music. The 2025 edition hosted Damso, M Lamomali, Clara Luciani, Philippe Katerine, Worakls, and Chinese Man. For 2026, the festival announces Julien Doré, Rilès, Ofenbach, Superbus, Suzane, Skip The Use, Josman, Helena, Kompromat, Mosimann, Luiza, Georgio, and Billx.
The Domaine de Candé, a vast property of over 200 hectares, offers a remarkable natural and heritage setting. This castle and its park, famous for hosting the wedding of the Duke of Windsor and Wallis Simpson in 1937, provide a unique backdrop for an open-air festival. Festival-goers enjoy the vast lawns, the woods, and the view of the castle throughout the weekend.
Beyond the music, Terres du Son offers a complete experience: on-site camping, activities for families, creative workshops, local product tastings, and an associative village. The festival aims to be a place for sharing and conviviality, open to all audiences and generations. Its eco-responsible positioning makes it a model for the festivals of tomorrow.
