The Trail du Tacot is a nature running event that takes place every first Sunday of April in Gevrey-Chambertin, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. Organized by the sports association Les Escargots 21, this trail gets its name from the old tacot, the small train that once connected the wine-growing villages of the Burgundy coast.
The trail offers two distances suitable for all levels. The 9 km route, with 300 meters of positive elevation gain, follows the vineyard paths and the trails of the Gevrey-Chambertin valleys. The 15 km route, with 500 meters of elevation gain, offers a more challenging itinerary through the hillsides and woods overlooking the vineyard. A free Nordic walking option over 9 km allows non-runners to participate in the event.
The Trail du Tacot is distinguished by its friendly and festive spirit. After the effort, participants gather for generous refreshments and musical entertainment in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin. The event is also an opportunity to discover the exceptional landscapes of the vineyard, a UNESCO World Heritage site, between rows of vines and forest paths.
