Troglovinum – Wine Fair in the Vouvray troglodytes

Troglovinum is an original oenological event that takes place every year on Pentecost weekend in the troglodytic cellars of Vouvray. The name of the event, a contraction of "troglodyte" and "vinum" (wine in Latin), perfectly summarizes its concept: discovering and tasting Vouvray wines in their natural environment, the underground galleries carved into the tuffeau.

The troglodytic cellars, a natural setting for wine

The Vouvray vineyard is inseparable from its troglodytic cellars, where the wines age in ideal conditions: a constant temperature of 12°C and perfect natural humidity. The Cave de Vouvray alone has over 3 km of underground galleries where 6 million bottles rest. Troglovinum allows visitors to enter this fascinating world and meet the winemakers in their element.

Discovering the four facets of Vouvray

The winemakers of the AOC Vouvray present the four expressions of their terroir at Troglovinum, all from the chenin blanc grape variety: lively and mineral dry wines, balanced off-dry wines, generous and concentrated mellow wines, and sparkling wines made using the traditional method. This remarkable diversity, born from the same grape variety and the same terroir, fascinates connoisseurs and neophytes alike.

A friendly and accessible event

Troglovinum aims to be a friendly and accessible event. Admission is free and catering is available on site to accompany the tastings. The cool, intimate underground atmosphere invites visitors to take their time to discover and chat with the producers. The event attracts both connoisseurs and the curious wishing to learn about Vouvray wines in an exceptional setting.
