"Un Été au Théâtre" is an unmissable event in Porto-Vecchio's cultural life, organised every summer since 1983 by the Compagnie I Chjachjaroni. This summer season transforms the open-air theatre of the Usine à liège, on the city's port, into a venue for live performances accessible to all audiences.

A Corsican company committed to theatrical creation

The Compagnie I Chjachjaroni is a pillar of theatrical creation and training in Corsica. Beyond the summer season, the troupe organises several events throughout the year: the Festival du Rêve (Scen'è Sonniu) in spring, the Journées Théâtrales, the U Cuncirtinu festival for young audiences, as well as practical workshops for amateurs and schoolchildren.

An open-air theatre in the heart of the port

The Usine à liège, a former cork processing factory rehabilitated into a cultural venue, hosts the open-air stage and stands. The setting, by the port, offers a unique theatrical experience typical of Mediterranean summers: evening performances, after the day's heat, in the coolness of the open sea.

A varied programme: repertoire, creations, young audiences

Each edition offers six different shows per week, spread over three evenings (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and two time slots (7:30 PM and 9:15 PM). The programme classically alternates: repertoire plays (Molière, Feydeau, Ionesco, etc.), collective creations by the company, shows for young audiences adapted from the repertoire (Les Malheurs de Sophie, The Wizard of Oz, The Princess and the Pea...) and occasional open stages for local artists.

With a single price of 10 € per show, the "Un Été au Théâtre" season aims for accessibility to the widest possible audience. The open-air format, the proximity to the actors, and the diversity of the programme make it a cherished landmark for Porto-Vecchiais residents and holidaymakers passing through Corse-du-Sud.
